We are doing the symbolic ceremony and doing justice of the peace / courthouse thing a couple weeks before our real Mexico wedding. Hi everyone! I'm getting married at dreams puerto aventuras on nov 10, 2012. Just getting into the detailed planning. Picked persimmon for our color - bill levkoff chiffon BM dresses and tan vested suits with persimmon ties look sharp! Planning on 4pm ceremony in gazebo and reception in El patio. Working on invites right now and trying to figure out what to include. Any dos/donts for destination wedding formal invites? STD went out in feb and a few have booked already thru our travel agent. Might have 60-70 attend! Getting nervous more than we planned and have space for but sure we will squeeze everyone in!!! Now have to figure out how much decor items we should bring vs what pkg comes with! We think we are going with the pkg resort photographers. Trying to see more examples of their work- so post if you have some links! Thinking personalized sunglasses, plastic cups with lids/straws (great for all inclusives) and other fun beach favors in a favor bag. Like the idea of a guest list in the bag too with info/city/names of everyone since a lot traveling from overseas and different places in US from everywhere we have lived. Lots of details to sort out on favors and decor but glad to have the big things picked out. Almost at the 6 month mark and can't wait!!! Dreams Brides, What is everyone doing for booking travel and get best air/resort deals for themselves and guests? Trying to see who has done what and what deals you've seen thru travel agents and/or resort. I'm torn bc Expedia has great deals out there right now. Dreams Brides , Ive had a very stressful time dealing with local travel agent trying to find the best deals for group discounts (air+hotel). I've heard booking with a travel agent is way to get best pkg prices, resort discounts, good group organization, etc. What are other brides doing? Does anyone have a travel agency referral for me ? What kind of discounts are you getting ($ off bookings, upgrade room, resort credit, free golf. Free nights, etc)? Im about just say go to Expedia and my guests do it on their own, but don't see how we will get resort group discounts. Hope to learn from others successes !! Katie

DPA Brides, My name is Katie and my fiancé, James, and I just booked Dreams Puerto Aventuras for our Nov 10th, 2012 wedding. I'm so excited and getting even more excited after reading all the posts in this forum. Thanks to everyone for the posts so far and I look forward to learning and sharing with you all next year thr my planning! Im debating right now about using the photographers with the resort pkg or 3rd party ones... Any advice, what are others doing? Anyone done any research on the golf or scuba diving near the resort? Also thinking of renting a boat/catamaran for a private excursion with guests so if you have any leads on marina rentals let me know.
