  1. You can only use a photographer that is not contracted with Beaches if they stay at the resort a minimum of three days. This is the only way they can take photos on the resort.
  2. My daughter was married there a few months ago. She had dj and calypso band - dj was good but band was one person (this is always the case) I think he was a waste of money She had reception on a deck right at the beach, great location - they tried to get us to pay to cover the jacuzzi to place the dance floor - I refused - they gave this to us (we had 30 people) some areas can only accommodate a small number - you may be limited if you have a lot of guests She had rehersal in area near Caribbean Vlg. - it was nice Did not see anyone wearing a veil - you can but it is very windy You can use your own photographer (no charge) if they stay 3+ nights, so you are ok You can have food other than pre-planned WORD OF CAUTION TO ALL BRIDES - I had numerous problems, as did my daughter in pre-planning stages - had 3 different WC's and ended up with Roxie - there is no consistancy amongst the WC or the supervisors. Even had things in writing that were not honored. We requested Caribbean Vlg. and all but 2 ended up in French Vlg. (farthest from beach) also requested lower level rooms for grandparents and they put them on 2nd and 3rd floors and they were in the building farthest from everything! Asked Roxie for Plumeria flowers and she said they could get those but their florist said they could not - ended up going for outside vendor. Do not beleive what they tell you - it may not be true. I have talked and written to numerous people with complaints - no one is helpful! They all have said they have numerous complaints about pre-planning but they do nothing to correct it. I suggest getting info and prices in writing but it may not make a difference. Good news is the staff at the resort are great! Had Patricia as planner and she is super nice and bend over backwards to make my daughters day perfect. She actually knows how to do her job, unlike pre-planning staff. We had Patrick as photographer - he was great and took a lot of different types of shots that highlighted the scenery and couple. I had heard bad things about photographers there but someone on this post recommended him so I requested him. So glad I did - my daughter had a hard time deciding on 120 pics. If you have read this thread you know the problems people have had. My daughter's wedding was great but I would have a hard time recommending any Sandals resort - my daughter had a co-worker that had their wedding in Jamaica and had the same problems. If anyone at the headquarters had made an effort to correct these problems, I would have a very different view. The problems are easy to correct and they make no effort to do so. Good luck!
  3. My daughter had her wedding last Friday and she didn't make final decisions until the day before she got there and you can make decisions there. If you want band they may not be available but probably will. My daughter had cocktail s and three hour reception which was great. A lot of time and plenty of food for everyone. She had her reception on the deck behind Carribean Village overlooking beach and it was great but there is a jaccuzzi there and they wanted to charge 300. to cover it (I protested and got it free) They will try to charge you for a lot of things, we brought our own sand ceremony items and they still charged 50. We wanted a video played at rehersal, they wanted 250. to play (got this free). We used their photo and video and they did a great job. Requested Patrick for photographer (recommended by someone on this site) he was great, lots of shots and unique poses. The wedding planner (Patricia) was great, nice, competant (unlike Roxie) and went above and beyond to make us happy. Definately ask for her and Patrick if doing photography. Don't stress about last minute additions because they are easy to do. We had Mahi and Steak and they were both great. We had the Tropical Paradise minus the fruit. Hired outside florist and they delivered tropical colored floral arrangements in conch shells, as well as bouquets and boutineers. My daughter did get the bouquet that went with this package and it was really nice and she used it for throw away.
  4. My daughter just got married there last Friday. She has long, straight hair and the spa did her hair loose curls, to one side with flowers and it looked great. It is hot and humid but not too bad at 5 PM. It is windy, use lots of hair spray.
  5. Lizzdee and Brandy, Saw the two of you are planning your weddings at Beaches T & C. My daughter is having her wedding there May 4, 2011. Wanting to hook you guys up with her and talk about plans. We have had problems getting info about wedding options. My daughter Melanie is scheduled to have the Island Paradise. She is wanting to change the centerpiece to tropical orange/coral colored flowers and is wanting to change her bouquet. Lizzdee, I think I saw you were a wedding floral designer, didn't know if you had any ideas. We have been speaking with the new wedding coordinator (briefly) and she isn't that helpful. Are you guys having the same problem? We are having our guests book through the group wedding department since they offer a free rehersal dinner, room upgrade for couple and other perks. Don't know if you are aware of this, no one told me about this option for many months. I will give this web info to my daughter but if anyone has helpful info or if I can offer info I have received that would be great. I am in Houston and my daughter is in Charlotte. ReneeT
