  1. They lady you talk to months out will not be your on site wedding coordinator. When you are a few weeks away and paid balance in full they will give you the name of wedding coordinator for your wedding day. I was scared When I did not hear back to emails but everything turned out perfect. I saw about 6 other weddings while I was there so I just think they wait til it gets closer before they give you more personalized attention.
  2. I just got back last night. We had the best day ever, we had Elizabeth as WC. She was great, we didn,t want to be bothered with anything and just show up. She made everything beautiful, I think she liked that we just let her do her thing, we had about a 10 minute meeting with her on day we got there and then she met me at hair and said she would meet me in my room when it was time. Absolutely loved My hair and make up, loved my flowers, loved the food. It Seemed they really went the extra mile, my iPod was skipping but we didn,t notice bc staff would skip to next song, she did ask if I had another iPod and then got my back up one which then worked, I didn't have enough dance songs but waiters and staff volunteered theirs so we could keep dancing, my family tipped waiters bc they were great. Best day ever!
  3. I was not happy about the move to a different resport-I can't remember the name started with an X. I emailed my wedding coordinator Mariana and she found two alternate sites that I am happy with. They are both outside and one at the Royal and other at the Gran Caribe, so I feel much better today. I thought I was going to have my wedding in a ballroom, which made me so sad considering I was flying all the way to Mexico for the nice weather and have to be stuck inside for my reception sounded so depressing. I am back to being excited and not freaking out anymore.
  4. I am getting married 11-19-11. I was just told today that I have to move my reception due to damage from the tropical storm. I was suppose to have it on the terrace, but now have to have it in a ballroom at a different resort. I actually do not know who my Wedding coordinator is because I have had 3 and they keep changing on me. Glad to know you do not have to do the mexican traditions because I do not have time to find all the items, etc...
  5. Can't figure out how to post. I hope this one works. I just found this website a few days ago. Wow! Wish I had know about it sooner. I am getting married in a few weeks at the Catholic Chapel at Gran Caribe. I was only told to bring the paperwork from the priest. Nobody said anything about the items for the Mexican traditions. I have been trying to get ahold of wedding coordinator at the Hotel for a few weeks and have not received any emails in return. I was waiting for the hurricane to pass, but still no word back. Have others had trouble with getting in contact with wedding coordinators?
  6. Hi, I just found this website and wish I had weeks ago. I am getting married in a few weeks at the Catholic Chapel. I have not heard back from my Wedding coordinator regarding some questions. However, many were answered on here. I am totally clueless about the Mexican wedding traditions. We were not told to bring anything with us except the copies of our letters from our priest. Not sure if this is required. Don't want to show up not knowing anything. Also just curious if others had difficulty communicating with wedding coordinator. It has been 3 weeks without any returned emails. I waited for hurricane to go through but still no word.
