  1. Well I started to write my review and it cut me off. Hopefully these can be pieced together at some point. So after the spa we got ready in our room and Gloria dropped off our flowers around 3:00. They were beautiful! They were $45 for each of the bridesmaids. The bouts were included in the package. We did get two extra ones for DH's parents and those were $15 each. When it was time for us to head down to the ceremony, Gloria came and got us. We did have some spectators watching, but it is at the end of the resort so it still felt pretty private. I emailed the lady who did our ceremony and told her I wanted to do a sand ceremony and that I had a poem picked out that my cousin was to read. It was a very lovely ceremony! She did a great job! After the ceremony, we took some group pics and then just of the wedding party. Everyone else headed over to the pier for cocktail hour. Everyone raved about the appetizers! We had the resort photographer for the ceremony, and they did a really nice job, (i don't have any of their pics posted) but we wanted to save some money and our cousin took our pictures. I think he did a really nice job. We got to enjoy that last few minutes of the cocktail hour and then headed over to the Lobster House for our reception. We had DJ Mannia and they were really great. He had the list and played all the songs we requested. We had four round tables of 8 and one long head table of 10. It looked beautiful. I don't have and of the actual tables, but here is what I showed Gloria: She added some starfish and candles everywhere and it looked really nice! I made the hearts for the table numbers and it spelled out the word HEART. Each centerpiece cost about $2 each. I was happy with that. I also showed her this picture of the escort cards. I wanted our shot glass filled with tequilla and then a slice of lime to hold the flag: We also had maracas as the favors. Those were a big hit! The service was outstanding throughout our whole trip--but especially at our reception! We had caesar salad to start, filet and shimp or chicken stuffed with shrimp, cheese and artichokes, and then apple tart for dessert. It was all delicious! Our cake was pretty simple, I just picked it out of Gloria's book and brought a topper. It was Tres Leches and although we were very full we had a few bites. Also delicious. We had a fun night of dancing and then when the reception ended, the ones who were still up for dancing when to the disco for a few more hours to party. Everyone kept asking me how I found this resort! They loved it. There were a lot of things to do and the service is just excellent! I am sure I left a lot of stuff out, but I am having a hard time finding where this is supposed to go!

  4. Hi, I would be interested in 25 of them. How much would shipping be to 68521? Thanks
  5. I think photography is about telling a story of the people and places that are captured; the importance of photography relates directly to the photographer. I want a photographer that will look for the pictures that nobody else can take. On my wedding day I am looking for our story to be told. For us to "reread" for years to come, for our family and friends, and those who couldn't make it to Mexico to be a part of our day because all of them helped us get here. I think this is a good reflection as to my take on the importance of photography: “If you see something that moves you, and then snap it, you keep a moment.†– Linda McCartney
  6. Wow! Your planning thread and DIY projects are amazing! Thanks so much for sharing! Very inspiring. And congrats on being a Mrs.!
  7. Welcome!! I am also not as on top of things as some of these ladies here! I sent out STD's, but I am also doing invites, just so I can get a definite number of who is coming. I ordered them through vistaprint and they should be here in the next few days. It sounds like everyone is communicating with you about whether they are coming or not...so you might not need invites.... I have my dress, BM dresses, centerpieces, favors, and escort things so far. I need to get the little tags and stuff on everything. And I also need to get cracking on the groom and groomsmen attire. I also need to start on my OOT bags. I am estimating 40-50 people, so 20-25 bags, with a few singles, and I am budgeting about $20 per person. I am sure I will go way over that, because I can see myself adding this and that in the next 4 months, but that budget is my plan! We'll see.
  8. Jill and Sunset Love, thanks so much for your great reviews and helpful tips. You pictures looked so beautiful. Congrats to you both!! I was wondering if you are able to pick a few choices for the main dinner at the reception, and then let the guests chose before we all get there, or if you can only pick one??
  9. Hi ladies, I am getting married at Excellence Riviera Cancun on Nov 30th! I am very excited, but also pretty nervous when I compare what I have done, (STD'S and that's it) to what you all have accomplished so far. Way to be on the ball! It seems hard to start with OOT's and stuff when I am not sure what the final count will be. So far 32 people have booked. I still haven't picked out bridesmaidsd dress yet...that is becoming a thorn in my side--I just can't decide. :/
  10. I just looked over photosincancun...they look great!! I didn't see an email contact, how did you get in touch with them? We are thinking about upgrading, too. We just need to see how many people will end up being able to come. November is still pretty far away... Sunset, you have just three more months to go!!! Are you planning on bringing any of your own decorations? I think that sounds like a big pain, especially since I will be bringing OOT bags, but I don't want to end up paying a lot for decorations once I get there... I really like the idea of not having to pay for a welcome dinner. I think people will still be happy being able to sit together at a restaurant even if it is not private. That's a good place to save some money. Are you guys doing a DJ or ipod or anything at your reception?
  11. Hello, ladies! We are having our reception at the Lobster House and we are still unsure on cocktail hour. Are your welcome dinners private or semi-private? We are still trying to decide what we should do for that. Also, have your all figured out who your photographer will be? I still haven't decided on that yet. SunsetLove, I saw that you upgraded your package, how many people do you think you will have?
  12. Hi ladies i am knew to posting, mostly just reading and seeing all the great ideas on here I finally got my STD's back and will be mailing those out this week. Our date has been confirmed, Nov 30, 2012! Very excited! Does anyone know about how much they charge for welcome dinners?
