  1. We are getting in on Wednesday and most of our guests are coming on thursday! We are doing our ceremony in the gazebo and have confirmed the event terrace for the reception. What locations are you thinking about? Just to avoid any extra stress with music, we booked the dj. Still unsure about extras like the lighted dance floor..
  2. Klaznov17, We were quoted 2 diff prices for dj mannia, (originally $1200 for 3 hours) but the last I heard from N was $900 for 3 hours and add $500 for the lighted dance floor. The dj has a menu of items you can add on as well for additional cost. Hope this helps! Ps we are getting married on the same date!
  3. MsBliss---your wedding pics are absolutely beautiful!! I am 6 months away from my wedding at EPM & I feel so scattered with planning. I've been following this forum which has helped me tremendously with getting info and ideas. It's so difficult to get answers from N, I've been waiting on a response for over 2 weeks now! Anyway, I thought maybe some brides on here may know. How much does dj mannia cost for a 3 hour reception? Do the bride & groom have to provide their own ceremony music? Do guests have to choose between 2 or 3 entrees? Any info on these questions would be super helpful. I understand it's wedding season now & the WCs are prob really busy, but over 2 weeks to answer some questions?!!
  4. Hi Kimlaswell! I am getting married on November 17, 2012 as well! I had no idea they book 2 weddings in one day. One time is your ceremony and reception? We've had our date confirmed since June of 2011!
  5. Oh boyyy now I'm nervous about my decision to not have a TA. Does anyone know how far in advance the hotel books up??
  6. Thank you girls for the TA advice! MsBliss- for a regular room with 2 guests it is $350 per night. So if you are having your photographer & assistant stay just for 1 night to shoot the wedding, then it'll work out to be cheaper than the $500 vendor fee. Like I said, I was told that the vendor fee is waived if your vendor is a guest of the hotel during the time of their services. Hope that helps = )
  7. Hi Ladies! I have been reading this forum and there is just so much helpful info on here for brides to be! My FI and I are getting married November 17, 2012 at EPM and seriously you girls are my source to the most updated resort info. We have been planning the wedding since July-ish and I just want to contribute any info I have so far to you girls. With regard to photography, we were told there is that $500 vendor fee per day that a vendor is present; however, with the exception of whether the vendor/photographer is staying at the resort. (Then it would only be what $261 for a room for one person and the photographer can eat and relax/enjoy the resort while she is not working.) We are actually going w this option to have our photographer stay at EPM for 2 nights so she can shoot most of the wedding day and our TTD shoot the morning after, before check-out. Her name is Daniela Garza and from the reviews I've heard, we are very excited to have her shoot our wedding. As of now, we do not have a TA and I'm starting to wonder if we should. We don't plan on doing a group booking and instead are directing our guests to book themselves (to avoid us having to front all the money & risk ppl not coming etc). We are inviting 60 people & are realistically expecting around 20, and no more than 30. I feel like if the group isnt too large then there is no need for a TA. But IDK, what are some reasons that brides chose to use a TA??
  8. My fiance and I are getting married in Nov 2012 at Excellence Playa Mujeres. We are looking into other photography options (aside from the hotel packages) and we came across Daniela Garza. Have any brides ever worked with her for their wedding photographs? any recommendations/reviews on this photographer would be greatly appreciated! -Heather
  9. Hi, My fiance and I are getting married at Excellence Playa Mujeres in November 2012. We are struggling with choosing a photography package that fits with out budget and will allow us to receive a good amount of pictures (at least over 500) while also fitting in a trash the dress shoot. The packages that they offer from the resort are expensive and give maximum of 150 pictures. = ( However, after doing some research I came across a great sounding photography named Daniela Garza. Her packages are affordable and you go home with a ton of photos and a trash the dress shoot. Has anyone ever used her for their wedding photographs/trash the dress shoot? Would you recommend her?
