  1. Custom but make the measurements the same as a pair of pants your fiance likes/owns already. They give you a choice, measure the body or measure clothing. They will come perfect. We added an inch to the waist because of what everyone said on here and they came an inch too big!
  2. Hey girls! I drove by David's Bridal in South Edmonton Common a few days ago. The construction fences are still up around the building but you can see stock inside! Another bide posted that it is scheduled to open April 25th but it might be sooner.
  3. Are you talking to me? We have 34 of us. Really?!! What time are you getting married and where? What type of dinner and reception are you having? How many do you have? When do you all arrive?
  4. So I noticed that there are a few girls posting lately that are trying to lose weight...Two words... HOT YOGA!!!! When I found my wedding dress, the sample size was too big. The consultant had me try on the size smaller in the same brand and it fit so we decided to order that size. When my dress came in in it was very snug. It's a mermaid dress and the rouching(sp?) wouldn't lay down properly and I couldn't sit in it. The consultant said that is cold be taken out but there was no way I was going to let that happen. So I started my mission. I'm normally pretty active and I eat very well. So did a 30 day hot yoga challenge. I did yoga every day for the month of February. Some days I had to go twice to make up for other days that I absolutely couldn't go. Then in March I have been going as much as possible (everyday truely is a challenge) which is probably about 5 times a week. Hot yoga is great because you can literally roll out or bed, brush your teeth and go. And then you shower after and head to work. It really gets the day started out great too. I also takes a lot less motivation to get there than it does to get to the gym or hop on the treadmill and the hour goes by so fast. Just remember to drink lots of water. So I tried on my dress recently and its loose. I lost 2 pounds but I must have lost about 3-4 " off my butt and thighs and my arms are getting really defined (a nice feminine defined haha!) I would like know if anyone else is dong this or planning to and what your results are?
  5. Hi! I've had a few spray tans. I also want to look tanned for my wedding but I didn't want to fake and bake. Unfortunately I am fake and baking...but this is the last time. I bought really good tanning cream than does tan your skin a bit too. It really increases the tanning process so you don't have to go as much. IMO I wouldn't spray tan for a destination wedding unless you are getting married the second day you get there. The tan tends to fade after a couple of days and starts to look blotchy. Plus I felt like the tan settles into your skin lines (not creases, as long as you use the barrier cream properly, you can avoid this) making my hands look old. Plus, if you are starting with non tanned skin they will recommend that you go with a lighter tan rather than a darker tan to avoid an unnatural look. So you end up with a 'glow' instead of a tan. And spray tans don't smell the best and they recommend no shaving after to prolong the tan. All that being said all of my spray tans have looked good initially(hands aside) and I never looked orange.
  6. My fiance designed a little symbol with a J and T in it and our wedding date. He got it made into stickers that were laser cut outs so they would lay flat on the round surface (rather than a big round/square that wouldn't sit right). We have bubba kegs and the stickers look amazing on them!!! And the stickers are plastic based rather than paper and they already survived the first washing. We paid just under $2/sticker though.
  7. I just had my shower/stagette and one of my bridesmaids got me a white bikini that says Mrs. Schuman in rhinestones on the bum!!!! Now im so excited for our wedding pool party. What a great idea!!!
  8. Hey! Not sure where you live but there is a girl selling these exact shoes in size 8 on Edmonton kijiji.
  9. Hey guys! Im not caught up in this post...but I thought I would contribute. I read this cover to cover twice before making my order. My FI had found pants that he liked here but he wasn't able to find a matching vest. So we ordered a vest from Studio suits. We followed the directions on how to measure exactly. We didn't get my FI professionally measured. The vest came in less than a week and it is PERFECT!!! I can't believe that they can make such a good product in such a short time. Plus it travelled half way across the world. We were so happy with the vest we ordered the pants to match and returned the other ones. Again we measured with the directions ourselves. We chose to use measurements of a pair of pants rather than body measurements. The pants came in less than a week and again are PERFECT!!!! I guess I should say the pants are a little big in the waist but not so much that my FI is even getting them altered. I highly recommend ordering from this site. It also really helps to order the swatches because the colors are different than what they appeared like on the screen.
  10. Not sure if you've found a solution yet.. I'm doing the exact same thing. My dress is the perfect length for my 4" heels. I trip over my dress in bare feet. The alterations girl took the inside/crinolin(sp?) of my dress and pinned it up a few inches in the front. This caused the front of my dress to pouff out a bit, allowing me to walk easily...but my dress is a mermaid style with flowing tulle at the bottom. After the ceremony I'll just remove the pins. What brand and style of dress do you have?

  12. We are having a reception after dinner (at the Parrot Bar now). You can have sit down dinner at the parrot/wet bar but you pay ~$70/plate after taxes plus booze because they only include beer and wine, plus sound system etc. Or... you can have the 'free' dinner at either the Sea&See or the steakhouse called Asadito(sp?). An then you can have a seperate reception after and pay $500/hr. This includes bar well liquor, wine, beer and mix and a sound system. Most receptions are from 8-11 but I have heard of some people going from 8-12. We have such a big gap between our wedding at 11 am and dinner at 630 pm we decided to have a pool party. Im changing out of my dress and into a white bikini and we're going to celebrate by the pool. My fiance are then getting our pics taken right before dinner so we can take advantage of the sun setting. This is just something we decided though. The hotel isn't doing anything to help out with this.
  13. Hey guys!! Im getting married on April 11, 2012 at the Elegance. Im having an early beach ceremony, wedding pool party, dinner at the steakfouse and private reception at the Wet bar. Im planning to get my hair done at the spa(it has great reviews), we are using an iPod and sound system instead of a DJ and im bringing simple decorations like sashes and lanterns to save a little cash. We have 36 people booked so far. It looks like I'm the next to go...so I'll log on after and answer all your questions. Just let me know. I'm trying to pay forward all of the help that past brides passed on to me
  14. Hey! For the girls looking for BM gifts... My FI and I are getting our BMs and GMs perfume/cologne packages. They are available at Shopper's Drug Mart for about $80. You get a box with ~12 newly released perfume/cologne samples and a gift certificate to get one of them after you have decided which you like best. I received one of these from my mother as a gift and truely enjoyed it. Its a way of giving them something that they are sure to like. Plus the boxes are compact and will be easy to bring down to the Dominican with us.
