Hi All, I am at a bit of a loss trying to find information on which resorts in Cancun / Riviera Maya / Playa del Carmen are gay-friendly and have been host to same sex weddings or commitment ceremonies. My partner and I are searching for an all-inclusive resort for a same sex commitment ceremony with around 90 guests, the vast majority of whom would be straight couples. We are not looking for a "gay" resort, just one where we would feel comfortable having our wedding and our guests would also have a great time. Any suggestions as to what resorts we should look at and/or where to find information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

We will most likely have 70-100 guests, so would need to plan for a resort.

Hi Everyone, I just got engaged and we are in the beginning stages of planning a destination wedding for the end of 2012 somewhere in Riviera Maya/Playa del Carmen. My fiancee and I have previously attended two destination weddings in Mexico for close friends, the first at the the Barcelo Mayan Palace and the second at the Mahekal Beach Resort (formerly Shangri-La Caribe). While the Barcelo Mayan Palace was luxurious and a great time, we preferred the smaller resort with the bungalow-style (or pueblito) rooms offered at the Mahekal and feel a bungalow-style resort better fits with our tastes as a couple. We will most likely have 75-100 guests, would like all-inclusive or at least some meals included, and for the resort to be on the beach as we would like the ceremony and possibly reception on the beach. Any suggestions to help us start our planning would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!
