Im a wine drinker when we are home but on the trips we have taken to OCT i prefer mixed drinks and so do most of the other people we travel with. I would say skip the upgrade and let your guest make the decision if they like the wine or if they prefer to order a coctail! They have lots of alcohol to choose from and everyone will find there favorite

I wasnt a huge fan of the wine from the previous times we have been to the resort. I found that if we were drinking at dinner usually we always ended up ordering a mixed drink and skipped the wine.

Who is everyone going with for a photographer..? I looked into prices for fineartstudio, photosincancun, dean sanders & sacha gluck and they are all around $1500 for 3-4 hours. Anyone find a better deal elsewhere?

Anyone having a wedding during the week of 14-21 of April that is bringing there own photographer as a guest? I am looking to have a outside photographer since the onsite one is horrible and i have seen earlier in the thread about brides sharing a photographer. i would love any info on sharing and trying to save on some costs since the resort charges so much for a outside vendor fee and i would love someone who speaks english. thanks ladies

JbandDJ- I noticed that you were questioning the time of your ceremony in march because of timing of sunset for pictures....did you look up what the sunset times are for march? I questioned this also and asked Ana for best time for a sunset wedding and then i googled the sunset time for our wedding and April and its not until 7pm. I know the recent bride (i apologize for not knowing her name that got married in November) had a earlier wedding because her sunset time is almost 2 hours different than what it will be in the spring. I dont want to sway you from your choice but i know this was a huge dicision for us too and after talking to Ana and doing the research we decided to do a 6 pm ceremony, but we also wanted a sunset wedding and we are doing pics befor. My fiancee and i go to this resort every April and October and its a huge difference in Daylight hours. I know you dont want sunset wedding but if it helps i just wanted to give my resources! HI everyone, Im not really new to the thread but kinda stalking it for the past 6 months here and there! I have a couple answers to peoples questions about the resort i have been there multiple times! I am getting married there in April 2012 but have yet to set a exact date since i keep going back and forth on timing! Anyway enough about me i just wanted to answer some quetions that i had seen others have...JBANDdj- to answer about the disco, there isnt a disco but they do have the american sports bar that is open later in the evening that has a pool table and a small dance floor. Usually its pretty lame but if you get a big enough group in there they will turn on some music and you can dance but its not always hopping. I was there last week and the staff was awesome enough to turn the tunes on for our small group who like to dance! As for night life its not super party crowd time atmosphere. The lobby usually has kareoke once in awhile and they will do random dj's at the pool bar but the music is random as well. This resort is not known for huge party crowds but with your own group i feel you can make your own fun! If anyone needs info on the resort i would be happy to answer questions, i know some basics about cancun and playa del carmen as well! Hope to hear more of everyones plans

Hi ladies im new to this thread but i am getting married at ocean coral & turquesa in april of 2012! I have booked a majority of my rooms through having a membership with the hotel but i have over 30 guests who are booking through a TA and she is having them wait until fall as to that is when the rates are dropped to a more reasonable rate. My Fiance and I travel to mexico 3 to 4 times a year and wait until about 4 months befor to buy plane tickets because they also drop in that time, but dont wait too long if you want direct flights.
