  1. Same thing happend to me, akamikey11.....thought we were having around 35, then it suddenly went to 23...even my backup photographer and my ceremony music people backed out last minute...boooo to that.... BUT, I didn't miss them a bit...haha! And we used the savings on extra gifts, food, and drinks on our honeymoon!
  2. And for the record, being married to the man of my dreams ROCKS!! Everything they say about the "honeymoon phase" is so true! We were living together for almost a year, so I didn't think things would be any different (you know, like a birthday), but it does feel different...it is amazing! I am so excited for all of you!! We had a beautiful ceremony, and a fantastic honeymoon! What more could a girl ask for! I want to help all of you girls as much as I can, so please let me know if you have questions!
  3. Hi ladies, I recently returned from my wedding at GP. You can see my review in the "Resort Reviews" section. Tai Flora did supply the flowers, but they showed up 45 minutes AFTER the ceremony was supposed to begin. Of course, they make you pay up front, so I wasn't getting a discount of any kind for their tardiness. So, maybe the resort has changed florist....? Let me know if you have any questions.
  4. I used the silk petals and they looked perfect. I don't think anyone even noticed that they were fake, or cared for that matter. I am glad I didn't waste the $70. Here is a pic of the flower girls coming down the isle.
  5. Check out my review of the Grand Palladium under the Resort Reviews section before you make any decisions. The resort is beautiful, but the service is not good...and my guests did not enjoy their stay. In my experience, the money saved wasn't worth it. Let me know if you have any questions!
  6. Thank you, Lindsay! I am very pleased with how the photos turned out! I have written my review...you can find it under the resort reviews section. I do not want you to worry or stress. I am hopeful that you will have a better experience than we did! Overall, most of my guests reported that they did not enjoy the Grand Palladium and they would not return. HOWEVER, everyone said that we had a beautiful wedding and loved the cocktail hour. Through the whole planning process, as well and when we were in Jamaica, I was very laid back and not stressing over anything (and I am type A, so that isn't easy for me to do). But, I think I was probably a little too laid back, and didn't put my foot down soon enough. I was trying to let everything go, keep a positive attitude, and not let anything stress me or worry me. I wish I would have sat down with someone in Guest Relations after the first bad experience. Because, when I finally did speak up the night of the wedding, they were quite responsive....even buying me a very expensive bottle of champagne to try and compensate for the trouble they had caused. But, at this point, it was my wedding day and I was in tears. No one wants to be in tears (at least not that kind of tears) on their wedding day. My best advice.....get in contact with a guest relations manager before you go. Tell her about hearing of my experience and ask for a point of contact you can reach should troubles arise during your stay. Don't try and be too "go with the flow" like I was, because it will just keep getting worse. I hope this helps, girl! Please let me know if I can do anything else to help you! I have written the Fiesta Hotel Group to let them know of my experience, but I haven't received a reply. I will keep you posted.
  7. Thank you, Holly! I used TrueColors Photography, and they were amazing! They really managed to capture the love story of our day, and they were just the sweetest people to work with! The best part....I left Jamaica with all of my wedding photos! Yay! No waiting! haha! The cocktail party was $15 per person per hour, and it was a really nice set up. They did it at the infinity bar and we had our own private area. It included 9 hor'derves (sp??), 5 hot and 4 cold, and they were all very good and filling. It also included our own private, open bar. The champagne at the resort is quite good, considering. We brought a bose player for background music so we didn't have to pay the $150 to rent the resort's system for an hour. We cut our cake at the cocktail hour and the speeches. It was a really nice time! I would recommend it to other brides if you are going with GP. However, I do recommend you read my full review under the resort reviews section if you haven't made your final decision. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions! I'm happy to help!
  8. Thank you, Susan! I owe it all to Rashel and Fionna!
  9. Beautiful pics, Justiner57! Love them! Akamikey11, I can honestly say that I didn't forget anything...thank God! I had the welcome bag supplies packed about 4 days before we left, and the rest I packed the day before. I am a huge list maker, so I had been making my list of "to pack items" for weeks. I'm glad I brought my pillow b/c the resort pillows were terrible, and they wanted to charge $4/ night for a decent pillow, which I thought was ridiculous. So, you may want to pack a pillow. I'm glad I had "wisps" for a quick brush up before walking down the isle. Also, have someone bring a bag to the wedding site for you. You will need a face cloth for dabbing sweat, a water, your lip gloss, sunglasses, and deoderant (if you are a sweater like me...haha). Hope this helps!
  10. I am thrilled to report that TrueColors Photography was one of the best parts of my wedding! They were absolutely AMAZING!! On time, professional, and ARTISTS! I have my pictures, and they all turned out BEAUTIFULLY!!! It makes me upset to know that these wonderful people who are SOOOO great at what they do get such a bad rap on this forum. I can honestly say that they went above and beyond the call of duty for my wedding day, even giving extra time to make sure they got the shots they wanted. They truly captured the love of the ceremony and our relationship. Everyone is commenting that our pictures make them tear up, and they do not even know what we are saying. Judine and Dwayne will be photographing me and my husband again when we renew our vows in Jamaica, or maybe for a honeymoon shoot next year when we return to Jamaica. Here are a few of the hundreds of great pics they captured.
  11. Hey ladies, I do not want to scare any of you because I am sure every experience is different, but, I must warn you that I was disappointed in the Grand Palladium. My wedding was a week ago, and the service at the resort wasn't very good. But, it is beautiful. If you would like to read about my experience, my review is up in the "Resort Reviews". I hope and pray you girls have a better experience than we did. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help! Heather
  12. Rashel Edwards is AMAZING!! She did my makeup on Saturday for my wedding, and I could not have been happier with the result! Not only is she one of the sweetest people I have ever met, but she is the most talented makeup artist i have ever worked with! She covered my freckles and all of my blemishes. My husband says that it is the best I have ever looked! I wish I could give her a hug just to show her how much I appreciate her! Her assistant, Fionna, did my hair....I was just as impressed! She is awesome as well! I loved my hair...she did it EXACTLY how I wanted it, and it lasted all day through heat, humidity, and even rain! I didn't think that would be possible! Here are a few pictures of their amazing work!

  14. I'm back and married, ladies!! Yay!! I do regret to say that I was highly disappointed in the Grand Palladium...you can see my review under the Resort Reviews section. However, I LOVED TrueColors Photography, and Rashel Edwards, and her assistand, Fionna. My pictures are amazing...and already delivered to me! My hair and makeup was PERFECT!! They gave me exactly what I wanted, but better!!! Here are some photos. Justiner57, so happy your day was perfect! You looked amazing!! Future Brides, please let me know if you have any questions or if I can help in any way!
  15. Hi Ladies! I'm back home, and I am officially a married woman!! Yay!! To start on a positive note, I want to say that Rashel Edwards (make-up), Fionna (Rashel's assistant who did my hair), and TrueColors photography are absolutely AWESOME!! They all went above and beyond to make me feel special on my day! I already have all of my professional pictures back, and I LOVE them! And my hair and makeup was PERFECT...better than perfect, actually! Sadly, I have to report that I was very disappointed in the Grand Palladium. I will write an in-depth review later when I have a little more time, but to make it short, I paid for day passes for Rashel and Fionna, and the resort wouldn't let them in when they arrived. I had to wait an hour until Omeshia got to work to get them in, so we were an hour behind on getting ready. Then the flowers showed up 50 minutes AFTER the ceremony was supposed to start. So, instead of getting the morning ceremony I wanted, we didn't start until 11. And no one told my husband or any of the guests what was going on, so they were just standing outside for an hour waiting. Not to mention that we were treated like an inconvenience at every corner of our trip. We had people travel across the world from Australia to come to our wedding, and I felt terrible to have them come so far to be treated so poorly. It was one thing after another. You would think that since they are such a big resort and they do so many weddings/ large parties, that they could accomodate groups easily, but this isn't the case at all. I wasn't even able to get a cart to pick me up for my rehearsal dinner. I don't think they even cared that it was our wedding. However, the ceremony was GORGEOUS, and the resort is beautiful. Our cocktail hour reception was also perfect. And, they do have many good employees, so I am making generalizations. We met several people who work there that were GREAT! Here are a few pics, and I will post a full review and more pics later.
