  1. Sorry, I'm not too sure which model it was as a friend was kind enough to let us borrow it. But I know he purchased it sometime in 2011 if that helps. It was quite loud, my sister's bf who is a dj was really impressed with it. Now we were at the Plantation so I'm not too sure how the sound would be at the beach. Maybe you can test it outdoors just to see how the sound is. Hope this helps!

  3. I also brought a Bose system for my wedding in October and it was great. We had tested it before we left for sound and we were a bit worried it wouldn't be loud enough but it proved us wrong. We had a private reception too at the Plantation and honestly our guest was dancing throughout dinner and after, lol.
  4. Thanks KDoyle, I was going to say the same! The only thing I'd like to add is that if you don't need to upgrade the cake, don't. We had 30 people at our wedding and still had a tier and a half left over. I had my reception at The Plantation but paid the additional fee to have 4hrs. I thought it was worth it (hubby on the other hand didn't) but we had the entire space to ourselves. I did chose the free package and paid the additional 10.50$ pp with the exception of children under 2yrs. So if you have any, be sure to advise Keisha when you meet with her. My ceremony was at 3pm and I was happy with that. Lots of time to take pics before the sunsets (our wedding was in October). If any of your brides to be have any questions, I'd be happy to answers. This website was so helpful for me with ideas.
  5. My advice to you is to enjoy every moment of it! Really and truly, don't sweat the small stuff! I was in such a panic the first few days because we didn't have an appointment time with Keisha/Patricia. But it turned out I didn't have much to worry about. All the things I had requested, she had noted and we discussed it. Be sure to bring all your email communications with you just as back up. If there is something you want, be firm about it. I didn't want the free bouquet and wished instead to have rose petals. At first Patricia told me no that it was not possible as the floral company wouldn't allow it. When my brother's girlfriend showed up the next day and spoke with Keisha, it turned out that it was possible and Keisha made a quick call to Tai Floral and bam..I got my rose petals! If there is one thing I could wish for was for time to slow down that day. It went by so fast. But it was the happiest I've ever been! But my best wishes to you and your husband to be
  6. Hi! I just got married and hosted my reception at The Plantation. We paid $1000usd for 4hours. In an email I received from Keisha but in February, she explained that for 2hours it would cost $500 and $1000 for 4hours. We went with the Steakhouse menu and paid $10.50 for the additional over the free package we had gone with. If you chose the Plantation menu, it was at that time $55 pp. So if you chose the Plantation, be sure to verify which menu you are going with so there are no surprises when you meet We brought a Bose system with us and my sister's boyfriend who is a dj did all the music for us on the ipod. Part of the reason we paid for the Plantation was to play music throughout dinner and beyond. And we had the extra privacy. I believe there was only 2 weddings that day and the other party was by the pool. Also, I too went with the basic decor on the gazeboo. Only thing I added were starfishes I had tied up with raffia. But having the palm trees and the blue sea in the background is priceless! Can't ask for anything better Hope I answered your question but feel free to send me a message!
  7. Wow, I had to read this twice..i can't believe this is a curtain panel! I even showed this to my coworker and she agrees...It's beautiful great idea!
  8. Hey, sorry for the late reply. I actually ordered real touch flowers from a little shop not too far from my home. I'll be using the bouquets as my centerpiece and placing them in Blumeboxes I ordered. I've heard some good things about Jan's Flowers (Floral) and if I remember correctly Lauren who recently got married in May had used them.
  9. I'm bringing a travel steamer as well. The idea of having it done offsite makes me a bit nervous! Thanks for the tips Ashley! Beginnin94, what date is your wedding in October? Had to believe it is almost here!
  10. Thanks and I'll have to search the "Joyful Juliana" font on dafont.com. I'm going to attempt this project this week I'll let you know how it turns out and will for sure ask you more questions if I get stuck.
  11. Great job, Mimiq and thanks for sharing! I too was looking to purchase one of these signs but decided not to in the end not to. But after seeing this, I'm going to attempt to do it myself! May I ask what fonts you had used? Also, was the paint dried or slightly damp when you transferred the letters to the board?
  12. I've been checking from time to time to see what new projects you have completed. Great job on the passport brouchures! I may just take this idea as a welcome booklet for my guest. Question...where did you get the background for the Canadian Passport,? I wouldn't mind incorporating that as well.
