  1. I was just married last week in Playa del Carmen, and we used DJ Carlos Aviles Marin (djcarlos_aviles@hotmail.com), He was a great DJ- we asked for a variety of music to suit our guests which were a mix of Americans and Mexicans, and we got just the right mix to keep the dance floor full the whole night. My favorite part of my wedding day was the dancing! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend DJ Carlos! -Sara
  2. Hello, I am planning my wedding in the Chapel of Nuestra Senora del Carmen in Playa del Carmen. I'm in the process of looking for music for the Mass. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for music? Thanks! Sara
  3. Hello, I'm having my wedding reception at Wicky's Beach Club in Nov. 2011. I was wondering if there are other Wicky's brides out there- and how planning is going? -Sara :-)
  4. I know a lot of people have already replied, but I wanted to throw in my support too. Please don´t cancel a wedding in the Riviera Maya area because of what is happening so far away in the border towns. I have traveld to Playa del Carmen and Cancun frequently and have never encountered a problem. In fact I am sitting in Playa del Carmen right now as I write this. It is a beautiful day here, and everything is fine! I feel so safe in this part of Mexico that I moved to Merida, a city about 4 hours west of Cancun a couple months ago, and am planning my wedding for next November in Playa del Carmen. I hope you are able to convince your family and friends to educate themselves about the facts of the situation here, and that you are able to have the wedding of your dreams! Good luck!!
  5. Hi everyone, I am also getting married in November of 2011. We'll be getting married in Playa del Carmen---we just have to settle on the date and location! I wanted to reassure everyone who is worried about the violence in Mexico. It truly truly is very far away from this part of Mexico. Although I'm originaly from the Philadelphia area, I live in Merida, Mexico ( a city about 4 hours west of Cancun) and am also frequently in the Mayan Riviera area. It really is safe here, and the problems in the border areas are not happening here, thank God. -Sara :-)
