Hi Michelle! Sorry it's taken me so long to respond! I haven't gotten a chance to get on here for a few days and right now I'm playing around here while I hope and pray for the Phillies to win! We visited The Royal back in January and I have to tell you the gazebo over at the Gran Porto really is much newer looking and very pretty. I considered using that one but my ultimate goal is to have a room in the building right next to the gazebo at The Royal. I love the idea of the walkie talkies, too! I have to look into that. I have my dress (just need to have my alterations started next month), picked our photographer (we went with La Luna), have our locations chosen and that's pretty much it. I picked my bouquet for the most part (just haven't told Elsa) but I will probably change my mind (that's my biggest problem, lol). We have 38 confirmed as of right now. I was actually only anticipating about 15 people coming, but the more the merrier! Right now I am figuring on doing the iPod thing, but I have a friend that is getting married there two weeks from today and if she has any issues with that I might go with a DJ. We're really not figuring on doing all of the traditional stuff and I don't really have a dancing kind of group so I feel like it might be a waste. We are arriving in Mexico on Tuesday and going home the following Tuesday. I would love to get together for a drink! I can't wait to have my toes in that sand!!

Hi Michelle! I was originally posting on the Knot message boards but got bored with that because everything was so generalized and was so thrilled to find this board since it is specific to our venue. It's so great to hear from someone with the same date!! What are the plans for your wedding? Where are your ceremony and reception going to be held? My ceremony will be at the gazebo at 4 and the reception will be in the ballroom (my fiance prefers indoors for the reception, but looking at everyone's pics have me craving a beach reception, lol!!) I haven't made any of my other choices yet (I know I'm a slacker!). I, too, have people staying at Gran Porto. My sister, brother-in-law and my mom will be over there with my nieces and nephews. I figure I will spend a bit of time each day over there with them. My one question about that is will I have any trouble with my nieces (ages 12 and 9) coming over to my room for getting ready photos. I guess I will have to ask my WC about that. They would really enjoy being a part of it, so if worse comes to worse, maybe I'll have to get ready in my mom's room. So nice to "meet" you!! Liz

Hi Everyone! I am a Royal PDC bride getting married on Feb 26, 2011. I have been lurking here trying to read as much as I possibly can without my eyes going crossed for the last two days and I have to tell you that you all have made me feel soooooo much better about my own experiences with my planning process!! Like many of you I would get frustrated about lack of responses to my questions (and when I do get answers sometimes they aren't even what I asked!!). Because of the slow response time, I have definitely slacked off on my own planning when it comes to everything that goes through the resort themselves. I was just beginning to panic about that until I found this sited and read all of your helpful comments. Thank you all!! I've noticed quite a few of you have problems getting Elsa to respond through the Base Camp. I have noticed that when I have sent her messages through there she doesn't get them, but when I email her directly she responds semi-quickly. I'm going to continue reading some of the more recent posts now, but wanted to introduce myself!! Happy planning, girls!!
