  1. Discount Hawaii Car Rental is the company I've used for my past 3 trips to Hawaii. They have consistently been the lowest price and the easiest to deal with. Highly recommend!
  2. Have you given thought to a luau? It might sound cheesy but its alot of fun and group interactive. We went to the Luau at the Grand Wailea and it was top notch! Service, food, entertainment, the whole 9 yards ... My husband and I did that for our wedding dinner and we can't say anything negative about the experience. We even were pulled on stage to dance. The staff made us feel special and we had some of the best seats in the house. Perfect way to unwind and end to our Hawaiian wedding day. Just a thought
  3. You won't regret it! They are a great team. Post pictures when you're back home Also, tell Dan you heard about him from BestDestinationWedding.com. He was interested to know that's how I had find him. Hadn't heard of this site before, and asked if we "graded them". My grade - A!
  4. Googled the closest dry cleaners to have our wedding attire steamed and pressed for our wedding, and Green Earth Cleaners was suggested. Our resort, the Fairmont Kea Lani, also recommended that location since it would be faster for us to use Green Earth as they have same day service. They are located near the Shops of Wailea, a super convenient location for most Wailea properties. The service was quick and very reasonable. My husbands slacks and dress shirt were pressed, and my wedding dress (which was actually a prom dress!) just needed steaming = $29.17 w/tax for everything. They also offer complimentary Starbucks coffee for patrons ... =) Green Earth Cleaners 161 Wailea Ike Place #B-105 Wailea, HI 96753 (808) 874-0505
  5. You can't go wrong with Della from Dellables! I absolutely LOVED my bouquet, and she was very easy to work with, reasonable, too! You can check out my bouquet here: http://dellables.blogspot.com/2011/05/our-beautiful-bride-jackieand-her.html
  6. We hosted an "at-home-reception" this past weekend for 50 people in Southwest Florida (where I grew up) in celebration of our recent Hawaiian wedding with just my husband and myself. Our party was luau style, so we decided to go with BBQ as it went with our theme and the most cost effective for our budget. We lucked out big time when the owner of the home we rented for the party (more on that location later) suggested Steve from Popz BBQ & Catering. Steve's prices were very competitive and offered a better deal for our group than Rib City, the other vendor in consideration. His package also included paper plates, napkins, plasticware, his homemade BBQ sauce, rolls and butter. Everyone was raving about the food, and I can't remember when I had BBQ this good in a restaurant. The onside smoker is awesome for ambience and smells fantastic, just like the food. You won't go wrong with booking Popz BBQ for your event! 7. Aloha Maui Brides! We returned a week ago from our wedding in Maui, and I'm already wanting to go back!! Started looking at places for our trip next year ... is that bad?? Anyways, we just received our wedding DVD in the mail from our videographer, and have to say, I'm blown away! He did such a great job! The following is the review I posted on his Google profile: Just Maui'd in May 2011 and Alex was the videographer for our wedding. From our initial services inquiry, Alex was highly professional and asked specific questions to tailor to our wedding video needs. We had an issue that prevented us from keeping our original wedding date, and he easily accommodated the date change in spite of late notice. We just received our wedding video, and I'm completely blown away - it encapsulates our day in such a way that rushes back emotions and the special memories created. The sound is perfectly clear even though we were not wearing microphones, and Alex's artistic creativity radiates throughout the entire production. Thumbs up to Alex!! We definitely got our money's worth and MORE! I'm so glad we decided to use him as our wedding day videographer - you should, too! You won't be disappointed! That about sums it up; Alex was fantastic! His rates were very reasonable - $350 for your basic wedding video. Our video was WAY MORE than what I expected and definitely feel we lucked out Alex Ignath Spinning Leaf Production Maui Photo & Video PO Box 12263, Lahaina, HI 96761 Tel: 808 283 4831 website: www.alexphotographer.com
  8. Just returned from our trip and I'll start a thread with a recap of our vendors but I have to say, I was very impressed with the ceremony Rev. Ron Lowery, "The Maui Marrying Man" performed. It was exactly what I could have asked for, and more. The white tuberose leis included with the package were gorgeous, and very fragrant! I was worried they might be cheesy or cheap, but they were gorgeous - absolutely perfect for our wedding! His prices are more than reasonable ($199 for a ceremony without photography, or vow renewal, and $499 for the package which included photography, lei exchange, marriage certificate) and he was extremely flexible given the circumstances that we had transpire (more on that later!!). We used his partner, Dot, for our ceremony photography, plus a shoot after, and I'll post more feedback on her services once we receive our photos. So, all in all, I would say go with Rev. Ron! He made our wedding day very special and was great to work with!
  9. Are the white or turquoise lanterns still available? Thanks
  10. In the process of booking Anna Kim for a "The End of our Hawaiian Weddingmoon" shoot. We're scheduling the shoot for early morning on the day we leave Maui ... it will be the end of a 2 week trip, wedding, and honeymoon. We'll bring a couple outfits for different looks. My fiance and I got engaged in Maui (kind of kicking myself for not doing engagement photos on that trip!!) and we absolutely adore the island, so what better way to end our trip than with casual photos of us in our favorite place on Earth. Sooooo looking forward to working with Anna! She is pricey (to me) but her shots look amazing! I would have booked her for our wedding, but she was not available. I'll post photos when we return. Only 24 more days and we're off to HAWAII TO GET MARRIED -- ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. How was your wedding with Rev. Ron? Any feedback is appreciated as we're using him and Dot in May Mahalo!
  12. We are using Dottie Freeland from Paradise Found Images, www.paradisefoundimages.com. Dot has been very responsive and her prices are great. ($250 for 1 1/2 hour ceremony photos at our resort, plus a CD with the images). She is the photographer for the Maui Marrying Man, Rev. Ron Lowery's wedding package. Their cost is $499 for ceremony and photography. I contacted her on my own for the photography at our resort prior to our wedding. I will post pictures once we are home from our weddingmoon in May.

    Shoes!!

I'm wearing these heels for our photos at the resort prior to the wedding on the beach, and for dinner afterwards. Going barefoot for our ceremony, and might possibly buy some slippers as an alternative. Love, love, LOVE Zappos.com! Best customer service and return policy, hands down!!
  14. Has anyone used Cupcake Love Maui before? I've read positive feedback and initially had a great conversation with the owner, Charol, but I'm having a very tough time getting in touch with her regarding pre-payment for my wedding order. Just want to hear from anyone who has used Cupcake Love Maui before to hopefully quell my insecurities. Mahalo, Jackie
  15. In the process of booking Dan Sanchez for my hair and Jessica Waite for makeup for my wedding in May. They ARE pricey but I've read nothing but positive review after positive review on the both of them. I want the best and they look to be it! Super excited :-)
