  1. The "new" wedding coordinator? I had Yamina and all I can say is she was amazing! If I had any advice...#1 Find a good travel agent #2 Try not to stress too much. Have fun! These people are amazing and they know what they are doing! You all are going to have a fabulous time! PM me at melissazaidman@yahoo.com if you have any other questions! I have turned my focus on planning and booking my sis-n-laws wedding in the Dominican Republic! Good luck ladies!
  2. It's been a while since I last checked in. I got married at EPM last October. I used William Sanchez...AMAZING! If you scroll all the way down on the blog I am the second wedding. http://www.williamsanchezblog.com/
  3. I can't speak for any of the other brides, but I felt 101% safe traveling to Mexico. All of Mexico's problems are at the border. You take a transfer straight from the airport to the resort going through 3 security checkpoints. No one is getting in unless they should be there. However I would not recommend taking trips off the resort. A, because of any safety consers you may have. B, because once you get there you WON'T want to leave! Excellent is amazing! You and your guests will not be disappointed!!
  4. Wedding teasers! Enjoy! http://www.williamsanchez.com.mx/melissabenteaser/
  5. Hi everyone! I have searched for a thread on this subject but didn't find anything. Anyway...my hubby and I got married 10/28/10 in Playa Mujeres, Mexico. We were planning on doing a Mexico themed reception back home Jan 22nd 2011. Anyone else doing the same? Post your ideas & pics! Thanks!
  6. Yes, yes! Please post pictures! I have been pouring over the net over the past few days and my brain is about to explode! Margarita cupcakes, photobooth, decorations, this is WAY more fun than the actual wedding planing! If you want to sell your photobooth props after you are done I would be more than happy to take them off your hands. Can't wait to see pictures! Hmmm...should I be starting a new thread?
  7. Ha! Yea I LOVED the pink. I didn't want anything to take away from the beautiful blue water, well...that wasn't so blue. That is too funny! My hubby and I just rented out a Mexican restaurant here too. We are waiting till after the holidays to do it though. Jan 22nd!! We are doing a fajita bar, ritas, and a photo booth with fun Mexican props! Going to be a blast!! Can't wait to see pictures from your event! Maybe you have some ideas that I can borrow? Oh and my invitations make me the most excited! http://www.etsy.com/listing/51863310/deposit-fiesta-cantina-party-invitation THANK YOU GINGER!! This lady is amazing! For any of you girls looking for cute passport, boarding pass, or post card invites check out her store!
  8. Thanks so much for sharing your pictures! Funny! Our colors and flowers were the same! I had one more thing to add to my "not so impressed" list. If you are planning on a pedi at the spa...SKIP IT! Mine was sub par and both of my bridesmaids paint chipped off by the next day. They didn't even use a top coat on the polish! Not impressed. The hair and make up was excellent though!
  9. Let's see where do I begin... Everything was AMAZING from start to finish! The only negative thing I will say is that they were not able to accommodate me and my guests in the same building or even close. Not to mention they had no knowledge that we requested it. Just a heads up for those of you expecting that request will be met. Understandable if we had a 60 person wedding party, but there were only 5 rooms reserved. Anyway...honestly ladies I wouldn't stress too much about the wedding. Every little email that you send to Yamina is kept and printed and put in a file for you. It may seem like her emails are short or she takes a while to get back to you. Don't worry! She will take care of it! My flowers were identical to the pictures I sent her and every other request was met. The day was perfect! You are in good hands! My photographer was the shiz! I feel like I couldn't have made a better choice. He showed me a preview as we shot photos throughout the day and even the unedited photos were breathtaking! He was professional, courteous, and gave lots of direction! He had lots of creative ideas and was also willing to listen to mine. I highly recommend him! I would say he was worth every penny and I have not received a single photo yet. I will post the link as soon as I do though! The resort is immaculate. Your guests will be wowed for sure! The grounds are amazing, the rooms are beautiful, drinks super tasty especially the Frozen Passion Fruit Margarita with Don Julio!!! My only negative would be that the food was not incredible by any means. It looks more amazing than it actually tastes. Don't get me wrong...it's good, but I am a foodie and a total food snob so that just may be my opinion. But still very good for an all-inclusive. Please do yourself a favor and go to the Michael Jackson show (Thursday Night)! It was the night of my wedding and we made arrangements for my group to have reserved seating. Wow! So much FUN! I honestly don't know if you ladies could have picked a better place for you and your guests to go for a destination wedding. I have poured over the internet the past couple of days trying to find a place to travel to for our first anniversary and unless Oyster Bay opens I think its going to be tough to beat! Oh and don't be afraid to ask for something. There is no such thing as "no" at Playa, or at least I never heard it. And...a couple of bucks here and there go a long where. I know it's "included" but these people bust their butts. Reward them! Victor was my favorite bartender/ pool area waiter! If you see him tell him Me-le-sa said hola! I know there is tons more that I could post, but I have jumped into more DIY projects for my reception! Ahhhhh! But feel free to ask any questions!
