  1. Anyone know of any new, current, fun songs for the reception entrance? My best friend is getting married in 2 months & I am trying to find a song for the bridesmaids/groomsmen.
  2. I got married June 3rd last year & received the email with the proofs on June 28th. So, it was a little over 3 weeks. I was the same way, checking my email every 5 minutes!! Once you get them, you will look at them over & over!! Congrats!
  3. I guess they recently changed photographers! I have heard of Blue Lens Caribe, but haven't seen any of their work. Luck for you guys!!
  4. Sorry to disappoint! If I can figure out how to do it, I will post pics from both photographers so that you can see the difference yourself. You will have pics the rest of your life. It is so worth the investment!! Did Nayeli give you the link to the resort photographer's website? If not, here it is: http://www.calypsofoto.com/
  5. I'm so glad you asked about this. I was meaning to write on here about them. I would definitely NOT recommend them. We got the gold package that included some pics & a wedding video. We just used them to take pics while we were getting ready since we had already hired an outside photographer. I think we got 24 pics that came with the package & we had a hard time finding 24 that we liked. We actually bought some of my husband's sister & brother in law that we just happened to see on the screen to complete the 24. There were a few good ones, but I am so glad that we didn't use them the entire day. The pictures were all 5x7 & had a white border around them which made them look cheap. The same guy that took the pictures shot the wedding video. He was pretty annoying & was talking to us & some of the guests during the ceremony. Right after we exchanged rings, he said, "show them to the camera" & other little things like that. Our photographer that we hired was pretty irritated with him for doing that & because he kept getting in the way. I just watched the video this weekend with my Sister & it is pretty bad. It is titled "Our Wedding's Day" It keeps going in & out of focus, but it is nice to have to show our grandparents. Hopefully they don't get dizzy trying to watch it!! I would've been pretty upset if I would've paid for it!! Maybe they do a better job if you are actually paying for it, but I wouldn't want to take a chance. We used Juan Navarro & he is reasonably priced. Let me know if you have any other questions.
  6. It was only $20/person. That included a ton of food & drinks for 3 hours!! They just set up a buffet & there was so much food left over. You can choose from 5 or 6 different types of food, like Mexican buffet, Caribbean buffet, etc. It was nice to be able to have everyone eat together on another night besides the wedding night.
  7. We paid for a sports massage for my Dad & a facial & massage for my Mom.
  8. I used that song for my bridesmaids to walk down the aisle. I kept it a surprise & it was awesome!!
  9. I had to chime in on this comment. We used Juan Navarro at ERC & he was awesome!!! I have never heard of Blue Lens Caribe & do not think his is affiliated with them. He used to be the resort photographer at ERC & EPM, but is now the resort photographer at Secrets Meroma. We were able to use him at ERC without having to pay an extra vendor day pass since he was the previous resort photographer. I'm sorry that you guys are going through this mess. There is no way that they can ban outside photographers...they would lose so much business. Good luck everyone!!!
  10. I have already posted on this thread a while back, but we completely changed our groomsmen gift. We bought them a diving excursion. They are both certified divers & they loved it!!
  11. I will definitely post some pics when I get them back. We had the resort do our centerpieces. Nyeli had a book with a lot of different options & we just chose the ones we wanted. I think 2 were included in the package & we got 2 extra since we had 4 tables. The extras were $50 each, but I'm not sure if we were really charged for them. The flowers for the ceremony were non-existent!!! I didn't notice that until looking at pics that there was not a centerpiece on the table at all. It was just a plain white table with the sand for the sand ceremony, which she provided. We didn't even know we were going to do a sand ceremony. I just want to add that I am very laid back & wasn't really picky about things. I wish I would've cared a little more about the flowers & decoration.
  12. No problem at all. Nayeli was really nice. She had everything organized when we met with her the day we got there. I would just make sure she knew all of the things that were really important to you!! The Lobster House is so pretty at night. You are going to LOVE it. For the ceremony music I made 2 cds. One was with 3 songs...what the bridesmaids walked down to, what I walked down to & the song that we walked back up the aisle to. They have a sound system out there that everyone could hear really well. The other cd was 5 songs that I wanted to be played while everyone was waiting (they all had to be there at 4:30 & the wedding was at 5:00). My Husband said that they didn't really play very much of that cd. The cocktail hour was set up to be on the pier, but it was really windy, so most of our group just hung out where they were serving the drinks at the bar. It is on the beach. We were very lucky that it really wasn't hot during the ceremony. It was overcast, so the sun wasn't beating down on us. With the wind though, if it was sunny, it still wouldn't be too hot. We all went barefoot on the beach for the wedding & all of the pictures on the beach. It wasn't too hot at all. Good luck with everything. You are going to love the resort. Congratulations!
  13. Hey ladies, I recently got home from our wedding at ERC & wanted to give you a few tips. The resort is amazing!!! All of the employees are so nice & always have a smile on their faces. My husband & I agree that they made the week & wedding great, especially Daniel! We had our welcome dinner in the foyer, the wedding on the beach & the reception at the Lobster House. Our wedding was on a Friday, so the Lobster House was closed. It was PERFECT!!! I'm so glad that we decided to have the reception there. There was a breeze coming off of the ocean, so it was a little cooler than the Foyer. I was pretty laid back throughout the whole process, but wish I would've been a little more picky. There were a few things that were really disappointing, some a lot more than others. First off, we didn't feel like anyone at the resort knew we were getting married there...from the time we checked in until the time we left. You would think bringing in about $40,000 to the resort they would!!! We had 33 guests with us. We never got a banner on our door(very minor), but just little things like that. The biggest issue for me was that they never cut the wedding cake. We did our cake cutting thing and it just sat there for a while & then it was gone. They asked us at the end of the night if we wanted it & we said yes, of course we never saw it again. We had the Caribbean trio scheduled for the cocktail hour, but they never made it (flat tire or something). Most of the guests said that our wedding was the best one they had ever been to. They all had such a great time at the resort & didn't notice all of the little things. DJ Mannia was awesome!! We would definitely recommend him. Everyone was up dancing the entire night. We used Juan Navarro & he was amazing!! We had so much fun & can't wait to see the pics. We really did have such a great week at ERC. The resort is the perfect size & always had fun activities going on. I can't wait to go back! Let me know if you have any questions & I will try to answer. Good luck!!
  14. Thank you! Do you know how many people the long table or the U shape table holds? We have 35 guests including us.
  15. We leave in 13 days & am not getting a little overwhelmed. Glad I found this thread. We will probably be tipping the photographer & assistant $50 each, Mariachi band(3)-$15-$20 each, Wedding coordinator $100, DJ-$50, Waiters/bartenders-I haven't really decided on this one yet. I don't think I will be tipping the officiant. If I do, it will probably be like $20. I am paying for the bridesmaid's hair to get done, so I will tip each stylist $20. Gosh, It sure does add up quickly!!
