  1. I've been to Punta Cana but I haven't been to this resort yet but I'll be there on Saturday. The reason the beach would close at this time is because it's dark. The sun goes down pretty early. I'm sure you can still access the beach and they'll have security but it wouldn't be recommended. It would be the same for all resort.
  2. I'm glad you are using Marry Me by Train as well. I love it. I think you should share it with your fiance. I think the song is more from his perspective and as I walk towards him I'm responding. It sounds silly when I say that.
  3. Hey, glad I could help. The order arrived in a couple weeks. They didn't send me an electronic invoice or tracking number so I was nervous. The invoice was attached to the package which I would need to get it through the border. I'm really happy with the pashminsa and think for such a good price it's something the ladies will really appreciate. It can get chilly at night. I've been to Fort Frances briefly, I can imagine the visit to Thunder Bay was a nice break. lol! Happy planning!
  4. Hi Papertaco. I'm in Thunder Bay and we're about 40 minutes away from Minnesota. We ship items to the border store and pick them up. It's not too long of a trip but I only do it a couple times a year. We don't have a great selection in town and we can get better prices in the US, there are also no large cities less than 8 hours away from us in Canada.
  5. i purchased mine based on my wedding colours (red and aqua). No matter what colour I get it won't match everyone's outfits so I got the colours I wanted plus a few for myself. I'm in Canada and was still able to order from Pioneer group. Their emails (spelling, grammar, lack of complete sentences) left me a bit nervous but someone else had ordered for me before and had them shipped to me so I knew I was happy with the quality. They didn't have any more of the shade of aqua I wanted but they had enough variety that I'm happy with the colour I got. With shipping and the exchange rate they came to about $3.87 each which is great and I didn't have to pay duty at the border when I picked them up!!!
  6. I am for sure doing OOT bags for 37 people which is really about 16 bags. I am sure they will be over flowing once I get them packed for my Feb 1, 2011 wedding. I am borrowing family's suitcases to bring them down for me. I have been finding deals on items all year long but will have lots of left overs because some cancelled. I have flip flops, slippers for some, cups, sleep masks, note books, gum, toys for kids, bath products, room key holders, pashminas, facecloths wrapped like cupcakes, tatoos, hand sanitizer, welcome cards and a few other things I can remember. oh and a magazine I am designing for the flight with travel details, games, photos, itinerary.. You don't need to do a lot. I just got started way too early and forgot everything I already purchased. Some are doing thermal mugs only which is smart or just a few well needed items. There is a thread with other OOT bag items and what was most popular. I had most fun with the OOT bags because I am so thankful they are all coming.
  7. I am having the Majestic Colonial salon do my hair. I just don't know if I have to put in my extensions first, we'll see. I heard great things about their stylists except that do not speak english. So be sure to bring photos of what you would like and extra bobby pins and hair spray. My sister-in-law had hers done but the pins were dark and she is very blond. Also just in case I don't like it or want to fix it I'll have extra supplies. I heard the make up the do is terrible, with really dark foundation, bold colours and the dreaded foundation line under your chin. I went to Sephora and had a make up artist select the right products and show me how apply it. I made sure to buy blotting sheets and a primer base for shine and staying power. If you add extra powder during the day to hide shine it will just bulk up and look cakey after awhile. I will be sure to practice a few times here first.
  8. thanks for posting the 'how to'. I am already making the round stacked ones in various sizes (like your smaller ones) but didn't even think about adding texture to the entire piece of fabric through the flame and cutting each as separate pedals. I am doing this for sure. I am using organza right now with some layers of tulle, but will try silk to. I am using these for centrepieces and will pin/velcro them to a runner down the table like a little garden. Your design will help to add more texture. thanks again.
  9. This is my colour scheme! I found one photo with this combination and thought I was so unqiue to pick it until I googled red and aqua wedding and found so much inspiration. It only made me love the colour combination more. Some people were surprised when I mentioned it but it is stunning. Great choice. I have found some products but with more of a blue than greenish aqua like your photos. It is fun to find a new decor item or fabric but I just have to remember when to stop buying more. I"m even using these colours in my house now is a few sparing places.
  10. Valentine Baby, I am going to order from Pioneer Group and have them shipped to the US border which I live 45 mins from. Not sure how to do it but if you want I can include your order and we can figure out shipping and payment. I'll order in the next couple days.

  13. I'm pretty sure you just wrote that post for me, down to the province and age. I have planned my entire wedding around diy projects and in my head they look great but otherwise I am hoping for a diy miracle maybe a Extreme Makeover-Wedding edition. Getting started early enough and practice is what I'll have going for me and maybe cutting some of my ideas. Hiring pro is definitely in the works. There is lots of help out there for you so do not be too dsicouraged and find out what you are good at and work from there.
