Cecilia can be slow to get back to you by e-mail...I've read that about her and I've experienced it as well. She will get back to you, though. (I know for me, I get excited about one thing and will e-mail her and just want her to get back to me right away...I think I have realized that and have just kind of decided to be relaxed about the whole thing. I know she will get back to me eventually. And if not, I'll just e-mail again...) I did receive this price list (see attachment). It is pretty recent. I just booked with them in January. Some of the things on the list are included in some of the packages. I am just doing the included wedding (with no private reception). Hope this helps! 3. Welcome and congratulations! There is a ton of information on this site. I looked around here for brides' reviews of their resorts and I also looked at tripadvisor.com. (The tripadvisor site was helpful b/c the first place I chose apparently had bed bugs which bothered several people who had gone there recently. Don't worry - this was a resort in the Bahamas - not mexico). I am getting married at Secrets Maroma Beach on July 9. It is an all-inclusive, adults-only resort. I chose it after searching through the reviews on here and I loved the resort's pics on their website. Search around...it'll take some work but will be so worth it in the end. Good luck and happy planning!
  4. Wow. That really just brought a tear to my eyes...really sweet. Seems like you've found a great man to spend your life with.
  5. It is possible...don't be discouraged. Step one - find a resort you like and see if your date is available. (IT is a lot of work - but use this forum - it is awesome! It has sooo much good info and can help lead you in the right direction)
  6. Welcome and congratulations! There is a lot of great info on here. I am getting married at Secrets Maroma Beach, an All Inclusive resort in Playa del Carmen. It is adults only which was important to us since we will be staying on after the wedding for our honeymoon and we wanted a more romantic (no kiddies) place. I would check out the reviews on here in the wedding review section. And also check trip advisor (Reviews of vacations, hotels, resorts, vacation and travel packages - TripAdvisor) for reviews of the resorts. I did a ton of research before I finally settled on a place. Happy planning!
  7. Welcome and congratulations! This forum is AWESOME! There is a lot of great information on here. You should search the wedding reviews section and also just do a general search for Secrets Maroma Beach. You'll find a LOT of stuff. Happy planning!
  8. I am getting married here on July 9, 2010. It has really good reviews on tripadvisor.com. I like it because it is adults only. I have heard good things but never been to this resort. I went to Sandos Beach Resort in Playa del Carmen last August - which was also really nice (not adults only though). It will be hot - Mexico in the summer - but bearable I think. My FH and I are both teachers so the summer is the most logical time to get married since we both have off. (We were going to do November but then we would have to take at least a week off in the middle fo the year - not worth it) I have read some good reviews on here - search the forums. (That is how I found this thread actually - I wanted to see what else people had posted about SMB) Good luck!
  9. Well...I just sealed my last Save the Date envelope! We invited 25 people - and we know that some won't be able to make it. We don't have a ton of money, and I was thinking of ordering Save the Dates but I figure I will wait and spend money on just the invitations (to the DW and to the at home reception upon our return). The attached document is simply a word document with a clip art picture of a starfish in the background. Feel free to use it, but I know there are more on here that are much fancier. (I wanted to send these out ASAP so people knew to take vacation days, etc. The wedding is only six months away!!) Now to find a travel agent to help me with group bookings...planning on doing that this week. Then I can send out the travel info, pricing info, etc. so people can decide if they can come. One thing done, 17,000 to go! Save the Date - joker with starfish - to post.doc
  10. There is a website I just found called Project Wedding...it has reviews of companies and things. This is what I found about the site you are talking about. Hope it helps. www.vponsale.com
  11. Wow! These are great. I have to admit I'm a little intimidated by the whole DIY thing - since I'm not the craftiest person in the world...but you have given me hope that I can do it! lol
  12. Hello! My name is Robyn and I just joined the forum. I am getting married at Secrets Maroma Beach in the Riviera Maya, Mexico on July 9. We are inviting about 25 people - not sure how many will be able to come, though. This site is great - there is so much great information on here. It has already helped me immensely. I just chose my location based on info found here. Now that I've chosed the location, I am going to start ALL of the other things (like finding a dress, sending Save the Dates, etc.) My To Do list is a mile long. Looking forward to exploring the site for more helpful info. ~Robyn
