  1. Hello ladies! I have trouble posting a new thread, so I will just reply to this one. I got married at the OCT on April 9 and it was FABULOUS!!!! It is a beautiful resort and what everyone has said about Ana is so true...she is amazingly wonderful and everything went so smoothly. We did our ceremony on the lobby terrace at 3pm (earlier than we had hoped, but there was another later wedding) and the reception on the lobby terrace at 6pm. Both were fantastic. The timing between the ceremony and reception actually worked out fine as it allowed us to take lots of pictures (after the champagne toast with the group) and people could just hang out in one of the many places in the beautiful lobby. I can't remember if there was any lobby entertainment going on Friday night, definitely not karaoke. There was a Mexican bazaar/shopping stands on the lower level terrace, and our guests had fun wandering through that a bit but it did not detract from our party at all. I am happy to share pictures, more stories/advice/questions if anyone has them! my email is ebdanks@gmail.com Have fun and don't worry about a thing, it will be awesome! ~Elizabeth "Danks" Johnson April 9, 2010
  2. Thanks for the opinion! we would like to try and have it later, but were told that 2pm was the only option (I think there is another wedding on that date). We'll see, maybe there will be some flexibility when we get there! I think you're right, cocktails and then a dinner reception are the way to go. Then it's just deciding what to have to eat!
  3. Hello! I haven't figured out how to post a new thread yet, so for the time being I'm going to piggy-back on others! We are getting married at the Ocean C&T on April 9....and so excited! My biggest question is what is everyone else doing for a reception? Our wedding is at 2 pm and we're trying to decide if we do drinks/apps for a couple of hours immediately after the ceremony, then just all go to dinner & meet up later. Or should we have a couple hours break (hang out in the bar or whatever) after the ceremony and then do a dinner reception. Any ideas?! While I try to figure out my own profile and messages, it's fun to look through everyone else's experiences!
  4. We are getting married at the Ocean Coral & Turquesa (Riviera Maya) on 4/9/10 and are so excited! Our ceremony is at 2 pm and we are looking for ideas/suggestions of how to do a reception....do we do a simple cocktail hour afterwards or do we have a 2-3 hour break and then do a dinner. Does anyone have ideas or suggestions?
  5. I'm (hopefully) getting married at the Ocean Coral & Turquesa in April (just waiting to have them confirm availability). In doing some research, I found this photography blog that has pictures of a couple of wedding there!
