  1. We got married at the Pier House June 26, 2010 and it was perfect. We had about 50 people total. Ceremony on the beach and cocktail hour & dinner on the restaurant deck afterward. We thought it was very cost effective and had a wonderful time. We had a brunch the next day at the neighboring Hyatt because that was our 2nd choice for wedding and we wanted people to eat somewhere else too. PM me if you have any questions or want more details! BTW Teresa Ebeling at the Pier House is so friendly, helpful & accommodating. Can't say enough good things about her!
  2. WOW! Go away for one month to get married and go on a honeymoon, come back and it's a whole new site. Looks fantastic!!
  3. Hey Christina - We're wedding day twins and we leave tomorrow (Wednesday) too. I have exactly the same sentiments as you: can't believe it's here already & this forum has been the best source of encouragement and inspiration! Have a WONDERFUL wedding ;-)
  4. Have you looked on etsy? They have tons of custom cake toppers that seem fairly cost effective.
  5. I did fairly simple ones for mine - pulled ideas from the fabulous ladies here! welcome brochure.pdf
  6. I swear by Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion! Use it before you apply eyeshadow and no matter what brand of shadow you use (drugstore - expensive) it stays all day! And I like Smashbox's foundation primers. Everyone has their own opinion on what works and usually different products work for differently on each person. Go to Sephora and MAC and have some makeovers done! It's fun, but be careful, makeup purchases become addictive ;-)
  7. I used Staples' Roll On Glue Tape. It's a double-sided tape dispenser. Really easy to use and worked perfectly!
  8. Hi Vanessa! Congratulations and welcome! Great wedding date!! Have fun looking around and getting a lot of great info and advice from the folks here!
  9. We're Key West, June 26, 2010. And I just told my FI last night that it's only 5 weeks away! I'm concerned about the oil spill too, but know that it's out of my hands and can't really worry about it. There's a daily report here: Florida Keys official Tourism Website - Islamorada, Key Largo, Marathon, Lower Keys, Key West
  10. I used jampaper.com for my colored card stock & envelopes. You can get free samples from them too.
  11. At Target for $1 each, I found small sand pails and shovels for all kid bags (ages 2 - 6), & for the girls, cute mini notebooks, Disney princess colored markers & lip balm plus soda flavored lip balm for the boys. At the dollar store, I got coloring/activity books for all & Spiderman crayons for the boys. At Michaels, in the dollar bins, I found animal mini notebooks for the boys. Will finish off with water & snacks we get from the grocery store in Key West. Whew!
  12. I think they turned out fantastic, BUT, check with regulations about allowing matches in baggage. I bought matches to go with my travel candles, then checked on TSA.gov (American Transportation) and found out that you can only carry ONE book of matches in your carry on and none in your checked bags ;( Does anyone here have any stories about taking matches on an airplane??
  13. At Sephora, the artist helping me quietly suggested L'Oreal Voluminous waterproof. Personally, I like L'Oreal Double Extend - even better than some of the more expensive ones I've tried (urban decay, yves saint laurent). I definitely agree with the greatness of the Urban Decay eye primer! It's the best and keeps any brand of eye shadow in place - even the low end stuff!
  14. Thanks for the compliment! I made it myself (except for the actual palm tree - that was from a clip art site).
