Typically, when I do cigar rolling events, I have a set price (ie $500) which will include an allotted amount of cigars (100) and anything over that, the guest can buy directly from us. We don't play that "you owe us more" game. When we run out of cigars, I simply tell the guest "the complimentary cigars are gone, but I do have a few available for sale if you so desire" and it is usually someone wanting their 4th or 5th one to take with them, so they don't mind paying $5/cigar. My contracts have you pay half up front, and half on the day of the event with NO surprise costs. Then again, I am an honest person whose day job is in commercial banking so...I guess you get what you pay for.
