  1. Hello fellow mommies to be!!! I'm 23 weeks prego (as of yesterday) loving the feeling of the kicks and nudges. Hubby and I have decided to be surprised for the sex of the baby. So excited i found this thread Looking forward to chatting with you all! Jessica
  2. Hello Ladies, I have Orange and Fuchsia Sashes. I should have about 50 of each but i haven't counted since i got back from the wedding to be honest. They are Organza sashes. PM or email me at jessicaandjermaine@gmail.com If you are interested.
  3. Hey Krista! I think that is an awesome idea you could even jazz it up by getting some plane frames at the dollar store and gluing the seashells and ribbon to the frame. This way if people want to change their picture they can use the frame for a picture from one of their vacations whether they were at your wedding or not. This is what i may do for my BBQ AHR favor....what do you think?
  4. Hello S2bmendes, Welcome to the forum and Congrats I got married the Majestic Colonial on May 11 of this year. Although the elegance and the colonial are sister resorts they do not share restaurants or bars. The parrot bar is on the colonial side. Let me know if you have any other questions i would be happy to help. We stayed at the elegance side for our weddingmoon Jessica Quote: Originally Posted by s2bmendes hey ladies i'm new to this site and love it...everyone is so helpful by sharing info, let's keep it up! we're going to book today for feb 2011 and we couldn't be more excited! can someone please tell me if the colonial and elegance share the same restaurants and "parrot bar" ?
  5. Congratulations Sarah!!!! Your pictures are beautiful and you looked amazing. You must have had a blast at Bahia Principe...it is still one of my favourite places in Punta Cana. I hope married life is treating you well
  6. Hi Jen, Ours is Aug 14th and going to be very casual as well we may even be doing some outdoor games for the kids and hopefully get the adults involved as well. I just has an awesome inexpensive idea for a BBQ favor. I'm going to get cheap Tongs or a BBQ spatula...hopefully i can find these at the dollar store and attach a little jar (a little spice jar from the dollar store) of Chicken BBQ seasoning that you can get in bulk from costco/sam's club....Tie them together with a cute ribbon and voila!!! I think it will be very inexpensive and it is something that everybody can use. I'm hoping to find the supplies tonight or tommorow and put a little sample together. I figured there are a lot of our friends and family that could not attend ther wedding but have given us gifts and so i would like to give them a little something as well... As for the dress a lot of people have asked me the same thing....I feel kind of awkward because it is so casual.....however i think it would be fun to wear a gain even for a little while and take pictures with people that were not at the wedding We'll see Jessica Quote: Originally Posted by jenninjamaica Our party is July 24th. When is your BBQ? Are you wearing your wedding dress?? I haven't decided. I know lots of people want me too so they can see it in person, but I want to be casual too!!
  7. Hi Jenn, We are having a BBQ as well for our AHR. When is your BBQ? What did you do for your invitaions...if you gave out invitations. I'm on the fence about whether or not to give out favours. I want it o be very casual and I just want everybody to be there to celebrate with us....no gifts either. Jessica Quote: Originally Posted by jenninjamaica Great ideas on here ladies, but I am looking for something else, I just don't know what. Maybe some of you can help. We are just having a BBQ at the park with friends and family. We want to keep it casual, so I don't even know if favours are required. We don't want gifts/money, just to spend time with our friends and family. Our parents are providing burgers and hot dogs, and then we asked the guests to bring a snack/treat or drink per family. It is so casual, my FI doesn't think we need anything, but I worry about people who might expect something. Should we do favours, and if so, any suggestions?? What do you think
  8. I'm getting married a week today!!!! I asked the same question but unfortunately the earliest you can start your diiner would be 6:30 as this is when the restaurants open. Jessica Quote: Originally Posted by sciencegrl10 Hi Ladies, Sorry if I am repeating another post. Does anyone know if the non-private dinner can start before 6:30 pm? If we decide not to do the open bar that means that we will only have about 2 hours for the private party following dinner (since I have read on here that if you don't do the open bar you have to be finished by 10 PM). Thanks less than 6 weeks to go.....
  9. Hello everybody, I am putting together an information booklet for my guests (85) and I am sure at least one of them is going to know the answers to one if not all of the questions listed below at some point before or during our trip. If you have been to the majestic colonial or know the answers to the questions below please help me out if you can. Also if you have any tips or suggestions in regards to staying at the resort please let me know as well. 11. I recently got an email from Sandra with an attachement of the price list that says guests pay $50.00 and "outside providers" pay $90.00. I have attached the price list. Additional Wedding Services 2010.pdf
  12. I like # 2 the best Quote: Originally Posted by bahiabride2010 Yup...you can change the picture by removing pane #1 and then you can access the picture which is attached to the front of pane 2. From other girls, I've read that covering the front and back sections is important when pouring the sand in the frame so that you don't have a mess. One bride said she only used half a bag for each colour. That's pretty great because then you can do a trial at home first! Here are a few different Sand Ceremony Readings that I've found...I think I'm leaning towards the 2nd one...what do you all think? Sand Ceremony #1 "Before the two of you met, your lives were on separate roads ... each going in different directions and seemingly leading to different destinations. But somewhere along the way (through some twist of fate) you did meet, and you fell in love. Today, you find yourselves standing here together at the threshold of a new path, and have promised to forever join your once separate journeys into one. Before each of you there is a container of sand. Each container represents the separate journeys you once were on. They also represent your own sets of friends and families, that until today were apart from each other. I now ask that you blend these individual containers of sand together. As the sand has blended together, your lives too are joined. Your once solitary journeys have become one of companionship, as you now set forth on a single path together into your future. Your friends and family are as one as well. You will now share those who are a part of your lives as you walk hand-in-hand Sand Ceremony #2 As you stand beside the ocean, may your love always be as constant as the tide; waves flowing endlessly from the depths of the sea. Just as water is the eternal force of life, so is love. Love is the force that allows us to face fear and uncertainty with courage. You have just sealed your relationship by giving and receiving of rings. But although you will be sharing one life, never forget that you are two separate people. Cherish and affirm your differences. Love each other. Keep your commitment primary. Together you will laugh and cry, be sick and well, be happy and angry, share and grow. Grow sometimes together, sometimes separately. To symbolize this union and the importance of the individuals within the marriage, two separate colours of sand will be combined. Each one holds its own unique beauty, strength, and character. They can stand on their own and be whole, without need of anything else. However when these two are blended together they create and entirely new and extraordinarily more intricate entity. Each grain of sand brings to the mixture a lasting beauty that forever enriches the combination. Please pour the sand into this common container to symbolize the union of your two lives. (Begin pouring sand) Sarah and Michael, just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual container, so will your marriage be a molding of two individual personalities, bonded together forming one heart, one life, and one family. Sand Ceremony #3 Now we shall celebrate this union as it is symbolized through the pouring of two individual containers of sand. One represents (Bride/Groom) and all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be. The other represents (Groom/Bride) and all that you were and all that you are, and all that you will ever be. As the two vials of sand are poured into the third keepsake vase, the individual containers of sand ceased exist as they are now joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual vases, so will the love and bond between the two of you render you inseparable. Sand Ceremony #4 Before you met, your lives were on different paths with different destinations. Love has brought you together and joined these separate paths into one. The sand in these jars symbolize your separate lives, separate families, separate sets of friends, and the different life journeys you once traveled. I ask that each of you take one of the jars and that you fill the center jar together. ~The couple steps forward and takes their individual jars and fills the center jar.~ With the mixing of these grains of sand you have now symbolically joined your once separate lives. As your two lives have been inseparably combined, so now are your friends and family joined, through you into one. And your once solitary life’s paths are also now one. All that was once separate is now shared and in this sharing you both will find great comfort.
