Hi ladies, I was wondering if any of you have seen photos of the different menu options for the reception dinner? My fiance and I are having a hard time choosing the different options just based upon the titles of the food. Since they don't give a really good description I have a hard time invisioning what the presentation of the food will look like. Would love to see photos. Thanks for the help!

Hi ladies, I am getting married at the Barcelo on May 27th, 2010. Our wedding coordinator sent us an email saying that our wedding was 'on hold' and would be 'confirmed' once we booked our trips. Our trips are booked and I emailed Victoria about 1.5 weeks ago about the confirmation ... but have not heard back from her yet. I was just wondering what everyone elses experiences were with 'holding' vs. 'confirming' your wedding date. Did you receive some sort of official confirmation email? Thank you so much for the help!

That is tough ... I don't think that is very fair either. I think they could at least credit the value of that $ portion towards flowers, cake, etc. As long as the money was going to something else that wasn't to difficult to arrange .. I wouldn't see the harm in them doing something like that.

Thankyou for the best wishes everyone! BDW has proven to be sooooo sooo helpful already! We will be getting married the week of May 22-29th. Our date is on 'hold' until we finalize booking our trip next week. So exciting though! Now to do wedding invitations this weekend

Hi ladies, I just wanted to say hi and thank everyone for the wonderful posts!!! My fiance and I are in the process of booking our flights with Transat, mailing out invitations next week and confirming our wedding date (that is on hold for us). We are getting married at the Barcelo Maya Beach Resort. The property looks beautiful from the pictures that I have seen and reading all of the positive reviews looks so promising. I hope I can be helpful and be able to answer of ppls questions along the way too =) I know that the deal Transat is giving us for booking guests is that for 26 people that book, the 27th person only has to pay taxes ($272). That will be a savings of $1372 for us. Not as good of a deal as WestJet, but every 'free' bit helps. Also, I do agree that having a dedicated and caring TA is important!
