Hi! I just got married at the RIU Bachata a few days ago so I can definitely answer some questions....we had a group of 54 so we rented the pool bar from 8pm-12am right after the reception dinner...it cost 400 dollars and had to be in cash. We had a DJ and bartenders, it was a blast! We just booked it when we had a meeting with the wedding coordinator at the resort. Also we had to fax our translated documents a month before the wedding as well as bring copies when we got to the resort. Message me with any more questions!

I'm leaving for RIU Bachata in Puerto Plata on Monday to get married there on Friday and the weather forecast says that the entire week we will be there there's a 50 to 60 percent chance of rain....We have over 50 people coming and I'm so upset that it sounds like it will be raining the whole time! Has anyone ever gone to the Dominican with a forecast of rain and had it be sunny?

We leave in 30 days for our wedding at the RIU Bachata in Puerto Plata, D.R. I can't believe its coming up so soon! Does anyone who has been to Puerto Plata have any suggestions about anything at all?

I'll definately let you know how it is! If it really is too windy I guess we can switch it to the beach but I REALLLy want the cliff so I probably will be stubborn and just deal with it. Planning is going good since we really don't have a whole lot to plan for, the only thing I really have to do is hire a photographer.

No, I was never sent a list, did you get one? I definitely want to hire a real photographer instead of the ones the hotel provides. Have you decided on one?

I know- I absolutely loved the cliff, its the main reason I picked the resort!
