  1. I'm working with the Flower Cart and was quite happy with their prices (wedding Feb. 2010). Leone has been fabulous to work with and my mother met her in November when she was in Cabo. She said the flowers were beautiful and the staff super friendly. They will deliver the bouquets to us at the ME for an additional $6.00.
  2. Wow! I'm so glad to hear that things worked out. Sorry about Neysa. I was originally going to book with her but it took her weeks to get back to me. Thankfully I've booked with Suzanne Morel. It sounds like our wedding will be very similar although we're doing the actual ceremony down on the beach, the cocktail hour at the poolside Firepits and the reception and dancing at 12 Tribes. Less than 3 months!! It's actually starting to kick in that it's really happening!
  3. Hey JeniferLyn: I picked up starfish necklaces for MOH, MIL and my mother as well as SIL. I don't like them thought because they are hollow in the back (although they said solid). What do yours look like and where did you get them??
  4. Wow - it sounds like everyone had a fantastic time. Congratulations and great review!
  5. These are some great ideas. I plan on doing a combination of things: having family take some items, carrying on as much as I can and wrapping the rest really well. I too, figure that the wedding dress in hand will make it quite clear we're there for a purpose!
  6. I personally think that's a little high, but they are a higher end restaurant. You need to keep in mind where it is - you most likely will need transportation there. Other options for big groups are: Panchos (they have a private room) and the Medano Beach Club. I would do a little more research as I'm sure you can get more competitive pricing from other restaurants.
  7. I noticed that the outdoor palapa we're having our reception/dinner at has quite a few of the tall propane heat lamps so I don't think a chill should be an issue for our guests.
  8. Hi there - we've planned a welcome dinner/drinks evening at a set location. No-host so everyone will be on their own. We're going to have nametags in pink for my family and blue for his family so everyone knows what side of the family everyone is from and how they're related (i.e. Janet - Aunt, so they'll know it's my fiancee's aunt). This will be an opportunity for everyone to get to know each other since they will be spending an entire week together. The boys have arranged a fishing charter through RedRum for the next day, we have a trip to Lover's Beach on the day before the wedding. We're just going to charter 3 or 4 boats and get everyone over to the peninsula to spend a few hours. Everyone is really looking forward to it!! After the weddding (at the Casa Dorada) we've told them the newlyweds will be poolside at noon and after that everyone is on their own. We're looking forward to a fantastic week in Cabo with 50 of our friends and family!!
  9. We are getting married 11 days after you and that's plenty of time to tell everyone to bring a sweater/pashmina/coverup. We have set up a wedding website (Wedding Websites by eWedding.com) and our guests are checking it regularly. We're not going to change the outdoor terrace for dinner and dancing - that's one of the best parts of getting married in Mexico! We're also going to put a pdf. or word attachment on the site closer to the wedding with the full itinerary of the week and other useful notes (bring sunglasses and water for hot ceremony at 4:00 pm, shawl or sweater for reception later, etc.). Hopefully they'll all be dancing and being a little chilly won't even be an issue!
  10. The flower shop I am dealing with in Cabo was willing to "rent" them to me for the evening for $3/starfish, but I actually ended up buying a bunch from a bride in the buy/sell section of this website for a great price!! Thanks for all the tips!
  11. Good luck with everything and have a fabulous time! I'd love to hear how everything went for you. We're getting married at the Casa Dorada in February 2010 and it would be great to hear how your special day turned out!
  12. Stelldiver - your review was fantastic! We're getting married there in February 2010 and your review was very helpful. Are there any current brides getting married at the Casa Dorada in the new year?
  13. Thanks Anita. You must be getting excited - only 3 months left!
  14. Hi there - I've noticed a lot of brides with starfish decor at the ceremony or reception. I've found some here at Michael's but they're $6.95 CDN each which is a ridiculous price! Does anyone know if there's a place in Cabo to buy starfish for the table displays? It would save room in my suitcase too if I don't have to bubblewrap and pack them. I need about 20 more for the tables. Anyone familiar with somewhere in Cabo that carries them?
  15. We're definitely doing the real thing in Cabo. The only drawback really is cost. We were planning on being there early anyways so that's not an issue and our WC is taking care of everything for us. All the paperwork should be in place before we even get there and we'll do the bloodwork at her office when we're finalizing plans with her. We wouldn't consider doing it any other way. We have up to 70 people coming and that's a long way to fly and an expensive commitment to make. We want to ensure they witness the real thing.
