  1. erynjeff613, I am getting married at The Caves in May 2010. I would love to hear about your wedding and experience at the resort. We are staying in the Clandestino for 10 nights, 4 with our parents, and the rest we have the villa to ourselves. (Private pool- how could you go wrong?) Please let us know how it went, and post pictures if you can! Thanks, Jessica
  2. hmmm... sounds fishy. I agree with LC_Rachel, maybe having a another party- on you imagined- a little later would be best. That way you are appreciative of what they did trryyyy to do, but then you are still happy as the Bride and have something special like you envisioned in the first place. All the Best!
  3. Wow, good questions, all! Needless to say, we all wonder the same thing. I guess I have some input and a question. I think that we should all budget some tipping money to our vendors and any others that we may want to tip- but we should also each be choosey and reserve the right to tip only those who exceed our expectations. That way we have the extra cash to make the decision, but only reward those who were truly helpful we'd like to give our appreciation to. But, my question to you guys is... what to do if you have an all inclusive package from an all inclusive resort. Who do you tip then? do the same rules apply as if you have hand chosen each vendor?
  4. Thanks to everyone who replied! We booked resort reservation to allow ourselves the 48 hours before the wedding. Best of luck to all of you!
  5. Hello All! Quick Question: If we are planning on getting married on Saturday in Jamaica (The Caves in Negril), when would we need to arrive, the Wednesday or Thursday before? Thanks for your help!
  6. Hello, All! I'm brand new and have a question about reservations and invitations. My fiance and I are planning on having our wedding at The Caves in Negril. I was told they were unable to hold rooms for our guests for more than 48 hours. This puts us and our guests in quite a bind as A) not all will be able to plop down a $1700-3000 deposit within 24 hours and what does this mean for our invitations if we will have to call all of our guests to tell them they have to book a reservation immediately, long before the invitations go out? Even though some guests will no angry about the situation, we must give them a call asap before the resort books. So all guests know when/what/where do you think the etiquette would be about sending out invitations? Any suggestions about how to tell our guests the good (and bad news)? Thanks so much!
