  1. Olympus Terrace is nice. it is definitely hard to get an idea how it looks from the picassa photos. I was suppose to have my reception their but it rained on my wedding day, so we moved it to Apollo Foyer. I actually liked this better because it was more intimate than having it at Olympus Terrace. Dont stress about the location the place is gorgeous so you cant go wrong wherever you have it.
  2. hi , i got married at PPR on nov 21. I havent posted my review yet, but the other ladies are right. The resort is beautiful. I worked with Leni, but all of the staff there are great. I went during a slow week, so they were extra accomodating, but you cant go wrong with this resort. it .definitely rips your wallet, but your guest wont feel cheated. I took my TTD pictures the next day at Dreams Palm Beach because my photographer stayed there for another wedding they were doing later in the week. My husband was so happy that i chose PPR after seeing Dreams Palm Beach. If you are concerned about the budgets of your guests dont. they will be happy after staying there
  3. wow i am sorry some of you had a bad experience with resort. i can feel your pain, as PPR is not very accomadating . I was able to receive an early booking rate through VacationExpress which was $114 per person per night for the reserve. I also worked with Teresa who is located in Canada. I dont recommend working with the coordinators onsite until you get there.
  4. Jennyallisha, Check out mypuntacanadweddings.com they are local event planning company and i think they are great. I didnt find out about this company until 2 months before my wedding, so i would have used them for entire wedding. I used them for flowers and shuttle service for guests that fly into Santo domingo and ride the shuttle to punta cana. you should at least contact them for help. Vivana is the conta nct and she is really nice.
  5. I think you will be fine. DR is known for hair. I was concerned about letting them do my hair also and they really put qualified people in the salons. I didn't use them locally, but my hair dresser is from DR so she came and did my hair. I got my hair done a few days later at my salon at PPR and I think she did a good job on my hair that I would have been fine if she did it, but like you, i was scared so i had my hair dresser come.
  6. Another idea if it has not been posted is that in DR their local drink is Mamajuana. My guests loved it at the resort and it would have been a great welcome bag gift or wedding favor.
  7. contact Vivana at mypuntacanaweddings.com She is a local event planner there and can probably help you find it. i used her for flowers and shuttle transporation for wedding for guest that flyed into Santo Domingo. She is great to work with and helps with those details or your entire wedding. if i would have known about her before booking at PPR, i would have used her.
  8. what are the differences in the prices fotr the min guest? for 2010 they were pushing the fantasy package with the add-on dinner that included open bar. it seems like for 2011 they added th for open bar. to be honest, you are going to end up paying 100 per person over the min either. Destination wedding or not it seems like you cant get around the those traditional per plate fees. it makes sense for them to change the aqua package because for 2010 i didn't ufnderstand why they had the aqua package when you got more for the fantasy package with the add-on dinner
  9. Hi, I just got back from my wedding at PPR and i had a great time. I am in the process of putting together my review. The place is so beautiful that I dont think you want to use a ballroom. You want to be out in the open to enjoy the weather and scenario. If you coordinator hasn't given it to you they have pictures on picasa of all of the locations. here you go: http://picasaweb.google.com/romanceatparadisuspalmareal http://picasaweb.google.com/romancebyparadisuspalmareal
  10. Yogagirl77 If you are still open to options, you may want to consider working with Vivana with mypuntacanaweddings.com. I used her for flowers and transporation for my wedding. I didn't find out about her until two months before my wedding, but if I would have known about her before, I would have had her coordinate everything offsite for my wedding. They are an event planning company. I just got married at PPR on Nov 21 and I am working on my review now to post on this site, but I would recommend this company. She is local and is able to find unique locations that fit in your budget. My flowers were half the price of what i would have paid at the resort. if you want to see pictures or anything before i post them, just private message me. My review is long so its taking me a few days since i just got back from our honeymoon
  11. I am sending you an email now. My wedding is Nov 21. I am willing to split the cost with another bride and I will ship off to by the nov 23.
