  1. I just got married in dreams tulum, my wife and I loved it ! review i wrote- Actually i was the groom, now husband. I think i need to write something here as far as my experience organizing and planning my wedding at dreams tulum. I popped the question a little over a year ago to my now wife gina in cancun and she decided that she wanted for me to give her a riviera maya wedding. I worked hard in the planning alongside with my now wife and now we are here to tell you our experience of our wedding in dreams tulum on jun 5th 2009. We decided to go with dreams tulum because they have a Catholic chapel inside the resort's grounds. That would make our religious wedding a lot easier. Its scary to plan a wedding long distance that is why a lot of people go for a wedding cordinator. I really think that it is not necessary given the fact that today we can communicate with vendors and its easier to find them through the internet. If you have the time, look for your vendors, do not hire an alternate wedding coordinator, you can substantially save a lot of money. We chose the dreams of love package and reserved almost a year in advance the date of the wedding. We decided to go for the dreams of love package which was the best choice as far as value for our money. We decided to not go for any extras on the package because the prices for everything else seemed to be exorbitating. I was also sure that by looking for our own vendors (florist, dj, videographer) we would save money. I acutally found the dj for our wedding in a review in this page. DJ Doremixx was an excellent DJ with top of the line equipment. His services are well bellow the range of DJ Mania and delivers the same quality of entertainment. Our wedding had an attendance of a little over 30 people. The light dance floor that he provides is awesome. He charged $450 dollars for 4 hours of music with full lighting, cold fireworks, ballons, masks, glow sticks and everything. We opted for the beach location because itr is a more private place and fact that the wedding took place in the actual beach gave the whole wedding a laid back feel. As I said earlier we decided to go with only what was offered in the package, NO EXTRAS. This actually turned to be a good thing because the tables were all white and they gave a nice look to the whole wedding. Most of our guests were dresses in white so everything kind of matched. I made a power point presentation that was playing in a giant projection screen that was set up close to the dance floor, now this screen unlike the really small ones is 2.5 meters long and wide and the projector is located behind the screen so that your guests dont see the projector. Its kinda like a gigantic TV. The flower arrangements for the wedding chapel and center pieces were also provided by a florist we contacted from playa del carmen that came up with the most beautiful and sleek arrengments. The florist was kind enough to drive down to tulum a day before the wedding to take a look at the little chapel and the recpetion spot to clear out any doubts. She was incredibly professional and not super expensive like most places. The videographer was recommended by the Dj, the video guy's name is Juan Carlos and he is incredibly professional and his prices are excellent. He has excellent equipment and his video was edited in HD. I ended up paying for his total services around 450 dollars for 4 hours of recording, he went to my room were my and my brothers were getting ready for the wedding having some drinks, then he went to the brides room and took excellent shots of the religious wedding, the cocktail, photo shoot, and reception. He was even kind enough to drop off the DVD at cancun airport as we took our flight back to houston. The editing was excellent and he unlocked the dvd so that we could make copies of it and pass them out to friends and family. The photographer was the one that came with the package. I saw that some couples pick another photographer for the wedding, I really do not know why, the photographer that was provided by the hotel was incredible, no need to overspend there. Now, the resort is beautiful. When we went they were only at 40% occupancy so there was not a lot of people which was really nice. The resort, the restaurants, and the rooms were incredible. We had a honeymoon suite and it was beautiful. We had two balconies a living area and the bed and bathrooms were outstanding. Room service, restaurant service, wedding coordinators, and bar staff are excellent. The front desk people acted kind of rude to me and certain of my guests, but nothing really bad. My advice in your wedding stay as far away from the front desk as possible. Natalia was our cordinator, an Argentinean turned Mexican, and she was just excellent. She worked with us with the price for the day passes, the one thing that bothered me a little was that we had to pay a day pass for the videographer because the resort counts him as a guest! Besides that, she was very helpful providing a separate room for me the night before my wedding, she also helped us out with a fan for the chapel and a table to place an ipos player which we used for the ceremony and was excellent. Everything else we needed we would have to pay. We decided to have the cocktail outside the wedding chapel and it was great lots of champaigne and the canapes were excellent (menu says caviar, not black caviar, still great tasting). The reception food and cake was excellent, the best meal I had in my stay in the resort was the wedding dinner, it was excellent. All in all the wedding was great, tulum is excellent, and the resort is excellent as well. I would recommend any body to have their wedding there. If anybody has any questions feel free to msg. I will defenetely share my contacts. They were all very professional and friendly. The florist was in charge of the tables center pieces and decor of the chapel, she did an excellent job. Contact them all ASAP because dates fill up fast. Any other question feel free to ask.
