  1. Hi Everyone, Sorry if this has been mentioned somewhere already, but I need your feedback. My fiancee and I are trying to decide if we should spend the extra money to upgrade on our room at the Dreams for our wedding next May. 1. Is it worth it to upgrade to a honeymoon suite or corner room suite from a junior suite? 2. If not, what room types did you all stay in and did you get any "special" treatment (i.e. free upgrade, etc...) by having your wedding there? Thanks, Elvis
  2. Hey Allison, Eventhough my fiancee and I ended up going with Juan Carlos Tapia, we did go back and forth with both Bradley and Gilda before we made up our minds. Of the two I actually liked dealing with Gilda more than Bradley. Both seem very talented but Bradley had a bit of bravado to him that turned us off. Gilda seemed much more willing to work with us and was more friendly via email. Of course, this is just my opinion, but an opinion nonetheless. Good luck with your choices. Honestly, I think the pictures will eventually speak for themselves and you'll find you like one style over another.
  3. We just hired Violleta Poletek. She plays the violin, but also has a guitarist play with her. Her website has samples of her music and she has been great to work with so far. Let me know if you'd like more info. Elvis
  4. My fiancee and I are getting married in the US before we go to cabo. We dont plan on telling a lot of people, just to keep the "specialness" of the occasion as high as possible with our guests. We're not bummed we're going it before. Also, our best friend is going to marry us since it's only a symbolic wedding. Elvis
  5. Hi Allison, Welcome to the site. My fiancee Ashley and I are getting married 5/8/10 at Dreams. Let us know if you need any advice on vendors, etc...Good luck. Elvis

Jess Hi Jess, I have been working with Yarai (our WC) on this for a bit and the policy is not really cut and dry. The day pass fee depends on the vendor and what your WC and the vendor work out. In our case we worked out a deal with our WC and the vendor, or in other cases, the vendor deals with it. Either way it has worked out for us. If you want more specific information please dont hesitate to PM me. Elvis
  7. Congrats! and yes, would love to hear all about it. My fiancee and I are planning on about 60 people ourselves and will be having our reception on the oceana terrace as well, so good to hear positive news about it.

Also, can you share some pics of your flowers and prices from Florenta? i know people are always asking about that. also, i am glad you reviewed yarai. i have had many people concerned because they do not read as much about yarai on the forum but i have to say to those worried about using her that she is really great. super organized and sweet!! Thanks for the review Salomeh. It's so great to hear what everyone is doing and makes us feel more comfortable about planning. As for Tammy's note about Yarai...We've only been working with her for about 3-4 months now, but she has been extremely helpful and very responsive. Sometimes she takes a few days to get back to us, but with all of the weddings she has to plan, we don't blame her at all. In fact, we started corresponding with Yesica, but she wasn't very responsive at all, so we requested Yarai and have been happy every since.

We're still working out the details but we only plan on hiring them for one hour. We figure the actual ceremony will last no more than 30 minutes and that should give them enough time to play while people are seated. Then we'll have a dj play the cocktail hour and beyond. For the duo I've been corresponding with Violetta Poletek. The website is Los Cabos Wedding Entertainment - The best live Los Cabos wedding music available in Baja California Sur, Mexico !. She has been completely responsive and very flexible and willing to work with us. You can listen to samples on her site. She sounds very very talented. I am still trying to work out this whole vendor (day pass or no day pass) policy with Yarai, but hopefully that will get resolved soon. Once we figure that out we're going to book her. If you have any further questions just PM me. Cheers, Elvis
  10. My fiance signed us up for this (isn't he sweet?) so now I'm using it! I have some questions for the Dreams Cabo brides... 1) What did you do for the welcome dinner/event? We want to have a dinner for our families and then a cocktail reception or something for everyone afterwards. Anyone do anything that avoided the $28 pp private event charge? Yarai told us about Rendez Vous, but is that a good place to gather? 2) Did anyone use Dreams for their decorations/flowers? It seems like the cheapest option, but I would like to hear if they do a good job... 3) How's the buffet dinner? I decided that I would rather do buffet than sit down to keep it casual. Anyone try any of the buffet menus? 4) What are the options for activities during the day for our guests? Did you provide the activities or just leave them to whatever they wanted to do? 5) Any cute ideas for favor/welcome bags? Thanks, all! Ashley
  11. I know my repsonse is a little delayed, but thank you for following up on this Tammy. I am still hearing from Yarai that a day pass may be needed for my vendors, but I'm trying to clear that up now.
  12. I have already sent an email to Yarai at Dreams to clarify what this means. I'll will keep you all posted as well.
  13. Hello all, I am a groom, but thought this would be the most appropriate place to post. I am getting married at Dreams in May, 2010 and there seems to be some new policies with regards to vendors. I reached out to DJ Ricardo (per many of your great reviews) and he said he cannot give me a rate at the moment b/c of some changing policies at the resort. Has anyone else experienced this issue with any vendor at this hotel? Here is part of Ricardo's email just to give you an idea: Thank you for your time and the information provided; for the upcoming 2010 events we are not have a rate yet, because there are some issues that we are sure what to do and determine; one of this issue is the venue you are getting married at they changed their policies for vendors to provide services. If anyone can add some perspective I'd be greatly appreciative. You'd think a hotel that is a major destination for weddings would be more accommodating to its guests.
  14. Cabo groom here - elvis only a few of us here! 5/8/10, Dreams Los Cabos
