  1. I too am hoping to have our guests stay at the Westin and to have our day-after Sunday brunch at Nikki Beach so this thread is just what I need! It's a little soon for us (wedding is in April 2011!) so we haven't gotten any info yet, but I'd love to hear more info if anyone has it! davina davina + daniel | on second thought Picture This
  2. For lack of better terminology: that freaking sucks! I'm so sorry for you! I am planning my wedding in Vallarta, but technically I am already married, as per a very romantic engagement/wedding ceremony in Vegas. So obviously I'm a little biased towards Vegas! Our day was amazing, if I do say so myself... see for yourself! : Ben Chrisman Wedding Journal Proof that you can have an amazing wedding no matter where/when or how much you spend! And with an amazing photographer, you're going to remember the day the way it was captured. This is all a little cliche and corny, but I do believe it! Both as a wedding photographer and past/future bride! Keep us posted!
  3. This is exactly the type of info I was looking for myself! I'll be looking into all the van/bus rental companies that were recommended. What about nightclubs? Someone recommended Mandala - any others? We are planning on continuing our party once the Villa rules force us to quiet down at 11pm!

Klila - Villa Mediterreano looks beautiful.. awesome idea to do dreams and then the villa! DD was a bit out of my pricerange but I'm currently still searching! I'd love to hear the other vendors you're using. I'm hoping to book Enlace, the band that's been widely recommended on here.
  6. I was planning on getting a DJ, just to simplify the whole search, but after seeing all these rave reviews, I think I'll be giving Enlace a call! I photograph weddings for a living and I can tell you first hand what a positive difference a band will make to your party. I think it's worth the splurge. I'm just curious to see where they would set up at my venue, Casa China Blanca. Anyone have that experience? Davina On Second Thought | wedding blog by Daniel Kudish & Davina Palik
  7. I have also been in touch with Stewart at Plush, but am finding the prices much more expensive than other caterers I have come across. I've read great reviews about Plush though, so I'm sure they're worth the money. I was a little unsure though as I felt he was a little hasty in trying to get me to sign a contract where as I still want to shop around a little. Naef was also recommended to me: Naef Cuisine :: A Taste of the Good Life! And I am looking/discussing options with Eventful Moments: Puerto Vallarta Wedding | Planning | Catering | Events Let us know if you come up with others, I'm at that stage of planning right now and could use suggestions!
  8. We got legally married in Vegas in January and are having the wedding two years later. It's not everyone's ideal, since the "real" wedding is so much later than the "legal" wedding, but we loved it this way! We got to have the elopement feel by having one tacky Vegas ceremony, just the two of us, and we still get the grander destination wedding with all our friends and family! Check out the pics of our Vegas wedding below, if you're interested. My finance surprised me with a proposal, two tickets to Vegas, and our favorite photographer who met us there to capture it all! 9. Hi! I'm getting married on April 23, 2011 in Puerto Vallarta, at Casa China Blanca. I'm a wedding photographer in Montreal, so I have plenty of wedding experience and I'm hoping to make mine a little different from all the ones I've photographed! I'm hoping this forum will help me choose my vendors and provide me with some useful tips and ideas. Happy to be here! Davina
  10. We are staying there for 3 nights with our bridal party and having the ceremony and reception there on the last night. I still have a long way to go - our date is April 23, 2011! But I'm glad I have so much time as there is SO much to do!
  11. I have booked China Blanca for my April 2011 wedding (I know, I'm really ahead of time!). I haven't seen it in person but read up on it and looked at the photos a million times and have fallen in love with it! I'm in touch with a few wedding planners/coordinators right now but have yet to select one. As for transportation, but fiance and I have decided to rent a bus (I know it seems a little un-glamorous, but it's convenient!) to bring our guests to and from their hotels in Vallarta to the villa itself on the wedding day. I got a quote from one company for about $500 (USD) but we are going to ask our planners if they can find any better rates. Let me know if you'd like their info! davina http://atfirstsightstudio.com/blog
  12. I am getting married at Casa China Blanca: CasaChinaBlanca -Casa China Blanca - Vacation Rentals, Weddings, Receptions, Corporate Retreats in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico It's a private villa just outside of Puerto Vallarta. I booked it sight unseen, but I'm hoping it's as gorgeous in person as it is on the photos! davina On Second Thought | wedding blog by Daniel Kudish & Davina Palik
