Any thoughts? Also can anyone give me any tips on what I should be doing here before I go? I have done nothing other than pick my package and dress! The last year just flew by and now I'm nervous! LOL! Hey Bclrgrl - I booked Del Sol Photography del Sol Photography and they have been super helpful. My wedding is July 7, so I'll post some pics after that. Good luck!
  7. nkuzik, you booked in July? I'm having such a hard time choosing a date. Our brothers and sisters (best man and bridesmaids) are all in highschool, college, university... So finding a date that would fit for everyone is a lot more complicated then I thought! The march breaks dont fit all together, so we're left with christmas or july... I was a little scared with the weather in july..? Do you know if it's its hot? Or what about the rain? Hey Cindy, Yes, I booked in July - We really wanted to get married as soon as possible and we were not left with many options. We had to use our credit from Sunwing by October (although they extended it to December 1) ... and so we had to choose between hot season (July - August) or hurricane season (September - December). We chose July, but wanted to book as close to the beginning of July as possible to try to beat any rain or extreme heat that may come later in July. I have been told that it does rain in July - August, but usually for a short period and the dries up. Weather is so unreliable anyways - I originally chose May because it was supposed to be so nice and sunny, but for the past 2 weeks it has been rainy and overcast every day! (yes - I was obsessed with the weather in the Mayan! lol). I am PRAYING that the weather in July is ok - I don't mind the heat but I HATE rain on vacation!!!!! Wehether to book in July or December? Hmmm.... are the prices the same in both months? Maybe I would use that as a deciding factor.... Weather wise - It will be much cooler in December, and maybe no rain - but weather is something that we can only hope for the best! Good luck and let me know what you decide to do!
  8. Hi Everone! I'm happy to have found this forum! I was suposed to be in Mexico TODAY and getting married on Tuesday, but, alas, we had to re-book for July. I am confidant that things will be back to normal in July (ooohhh goodness. I SURE hope so! Could you imagine having to re-book twice?!?!?!?!) My ONLY piece of consolation is that it is pouring rain all this coming week in the Mayan. Let's just PRAY that the weather is ok in July!!!! Anyways, we couldnt get back to our original resort (Bahia Principe Tulum) so booked at the BBGE instead! It looks beautiful, so I am excited, but the wedding packages are much more expensive (I was reading all the posts, and it seems as though they just raised the prices). My new date is set for July 7 at 5:00 pm - is anyone else going to be there that week? It's funny, because I am already finding the lack of reply from Candy quite frusterating! My TA got my date worked ou with her, but I have no idea if she received my contract or how I am suposed to pay for the deposit - how did you girls pay your deposit? Do you recommend that I just call her and give my credit card over the phone? Are you ladies planning on hiring a guitar trio for your ceremony? I had that set up at the old resort, but am not sure if that is an option here.... does anyone know? I'd rather live music than play music from a cd player..... any advice? Anyways, it's great to "meet" you all and I look forward to many more posts! By the way - we have booked our photography with Del Sol Photography - they just won a "Top 10" award and have been SUPER understanding about having to switch the dates. We have book Vincent - here is a link to his work: http://www.delsolphotography.com/vincent/ Natalie
  9. I am also from Cow Town! I am getting married July 7 in the Mayan Riviera - well, actually I was suposed to be getting married on Tuesday in the Mayan, but, well you all know ... had to re-book! Natalie
