  1. deb, i'm sorry to hear about all the little things that happened on your wedding day. i'm glad you did not let it ruin your day by keeping a positive attitude! i have to say i do love the picture in your signature file. i think you and your hubby look beautiful! there is something about the wind in your hair that adds an extra something to it.. my photo is one that a friend took when we got back to the marriott. we did not get our proofs yet from blue glass either.. and you know what? i did not even confirm with them how long it would take. =/ i'm so glad lindquist was so beautiful for you! we ended up changing the location the ceremony last minute (to magens bay). my wedding day was not as smooth as i had hoped either!! on the actual wedding day... the limo driver was late. he was waiting at the main hotel lobby and not at the morningstar lobby (two different areas). STT brides, triple check with your coordinator to make sure they know where to pick you up!! then as we were driving to the location, it started raining! and it didn't stop. we showed up at the location and we tried to wait it out. after awhile, it didn't seem like it was going to stop, so when it was mildly sprinkling, we went for it! then as the ceremony progressed, the drops just came down harder and faster. i couldn't concentrate on my own ceremony because all i could do was watch my guests' clothes change colors as they all got wet!!! it made me laugh at the silliness of it all.. having our ceremony in the pouring rain. like, who does that?!? luckily, we all kept an upbeat attitude. the guests laughed it off and were great about it. the best man held a huge umbrella (courtesy of the limo driver) over our heads during the ceremony. moral of all this? despite everything we try to control, we cannot control mother nature. rainy weather is possible but all we can do is make the best of it! i'll never forget my wedding ceremony, that is for sure! for all STT brides... if you think there may be a chance of rain on your day, ask your WC if they can bring along umbrellas for the guests to use. i wish i had done that. a couple other comments/reviews: all the vendors leslie worked with were wonderful and friendly. the videographer was great, as was alain from blue glass. the limo driver was extremely courteous. we were definitely behind schedule due to the rain delay.. but nobody rushed us! for brides marrying at or planning to marry at the marriott frenchman's reef... there are a lot of beautiful locations to take photos! we did a lot of photos here after the ceremony because the sun came out.
  2. hi everyone! first, welcome to all the new STT brides! ) best of luck to you girls planning your weddings! i just wanted to give a couple of quick updates on our wedding. leslie of perfect weddings of st thomas was wonderful! loved her! our dinner at havana blue was fabulous! we loved the atmosphere, the service, and the food. the guests all had a great time too and all enjoyed the food. our stay at the marriott was fantastic as well! we got a beachfront room at the morningstar and i highly recommend it. the view was beautiful and i loved hearing the waves crashing as i went to bed each night. if i can help anyone with more detailed feedback, or feedback on anything else, feel free to message me.
  3. Good luck Deb! Hope you have a wonderful wedding and a great time on your cruise!! I know... me too about the brides who are having to cancel their weddings. My heart goes out to them. Thank you Petunia!! I cannot believe it's almost here! I'll bring pics back. AudreyLynn... I'm not getting married with Marriott but that's where I'll be staying. I'll try to snap some shots of the area for you! Also, we're having our dinner reception at the Havana Blue (but for a smaller number of guests.. 17). I'll come back with reviews with the food, service, size of rooms.. etc too.

I think our photo shoot will take much longer than the ceremony. BTW, we went with Blue Glass Photography. Saw their work all over the web and fell in love. I also want to do a TTD for part of it. Anyone else doing that? P.S. I am nervous and excited, too! Hi Deb! We are staying on the island so our ceremony will be early in the morning at 9. I guess we will not be crossing paths. But it's still exciting to hear we'll be sharing the same date and same beach!! Yes we're going with Blue Glass Photography as well! Oh and I also want to do a TTD but I will not be. Would love to see any bride's photos who does!!! Wishing everyone luck!! I can't believe how quickly time goes by when it comes down to the wire!!!!
  5. Hi everyone! I'm joining this forum a little late in the game... but Name: Vivian From: Boston, MA Getting married at: Lindquist Beach On: May 12 2009 WC: Leslie Dawson of Perfect Weddings of St Thomas I'm getting very nervous but excited at the same time. I went with Leslie as our WC and she's been great to work with so far. She's been very helpful and responds very quickly.. which helps when planning from afar. Swine flu worries me about traveling... but I got a prescription for Tamiflu... just in case. I've also urged my guests to do so. And we've bought lots and lots of hand sanitizers... as part of the welcome bag for guests! Deb - we have the same wedding date on the same beach! What time is your ceremony at? I am a little worried at the fact it's a public beach but I feel assured that it will turn out great. Less than two weeks away!!
  6. Thanks everyone for the upbeat welcome! It's not so much worrying about St Thomas. It's worrying about the plane rides... (there's one connection) and end up being on a plane with someone who may be carrying it. Also, a few of them are traveling with babies. I am trying to keep positive though!
  7. Hi everyone... My name is Vivian and I'm new here. My wedding, which will be on the beautiful island of St Thomas, is less than two weeks away! Aside from the normal pre-wedding jitters, I am freaking out because of the swine flu fear. A few of my guests are considering canceling their travels, and potentially all may cancel depending on how badly this thing spreads. I'm not sure what to do. I would not want anyone risking their health/lives for this but at the same time, I am crushed my big day may not happen after months of planning. *tears*
