Thanks for all the information it will come in handy. By the way I recognize one of your bridesmaids Carrie, I went to high school with her. Small world eh! Hope you are enjoying newlywed bliss Tina

  5. Hello fellow Cabo Brides! I'm a little ahead of the game, getting married at The Riu Santa Fe Oct.7/2010. Still trying to decide on a ceremony location as I really wanted to get married in the Palace Gazebo but they wont let us & the Santa Fe Gazebo will not hold all our guests. Does anyone know if there is an option to have the ceremony in a garden on the grounds somewhere? Also wondering if anyone has pictures of the English Garden to share?
  6. Hi Red, Thanks for the info, I was actually just asking my travel agent yesterday if we could rent the Palace Gazebo. Now that you've answered my question. I'm very sad to hear that, I already had it all visualized. Oh well on to plan B, I guess it will have to be the beach! Do you happen to know if there is an option to have the ceremony in a garden perhaps? I did see the note about having to have 80% of your guests at the same hotel, I just assumed they meant other resorts (exp Dreams) & their sister resort would be fine. You would think they would make an exception if everyone is staying at the Riu, kind of silly in my opinion.

The wedding was at 6 on the beach and there were people watching from behind ( in the pool bar) but it wasnt as bad as people say. you couldnt notice them during the ceremony they were considerate and after they all helped cheer and clap. THe dinner was at the steak house on the terrace and it was beautiful also. DInner was just as the sun was setting and it was very private. the food was incredable! we had ate at the steakhouse a few nights prior and had steak. At the wedding dinner we had chicken and it was delicious as well. We then went to the disco they rented it out for dancing. It looked like an 80s strip club inside (mirrors cherries and dark) but it was so much fun and very private as well. i suggest bringing your own ipod becasue the dj they had didnt speak english very well and it was hard to communicate http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...jacked.gifwhat songs we wanted to hear. all in all we had a great time and i am enjoying planning our wedding for 2010 Hi DestCabo, Like you I'm a little ahead of the game. Thank goodness for this site! I would be so lost without everyones great reviews, ideas & shared information. Have you decided on your ceremony spot & reception dinner yet? Have you figured out who's going to do your hair & make up? I have decided on the Gazebo at the Palace but still trying to figure out the reception, leaning towards a private reception at the Steak House Terrace. Just seems so expensive but I'm thinking it's worth it! I may get hair & make up done on site at the spa just for convenience sake. Hope all your planning is going well! Girly Girl
  8. Hi Carly, Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!. As a future Santa Fe bride (Likely Oct 2010) I would really appreciate and information you can share. I know I'm a little ahead of the game but I'm an organization freak lol Have you hammered out all the details yet? Like where the ceremony & reception will be? I received the information package by email but the pricing is a little confusing & contradicting. Still waiting to hear back the actual additional fees involved in a private reception at Don Juio's, it seems really expensive to do the seated dinner with open bar & appretizers not sure it's worth it. I'm second thinking my venue since so many others have said you can still have dinner in the steak house terrace and it's pretty private. Dilema! Hope all your planning is going well, looking forward to your future review. Tina
  9. Hi Everyone, I'm so happy this site exists. All of your reviews & information is so very appreciated. If there are any other RIU Cabo brides out there let's keep in touch with ideas & any information. You all seem so organized it's freaking me out a little lol
