  1. We were married in January at the Grand Palladium. It was the most perfect day and I loved every minute and every detail that went into it. We were married in the Garden Gazebo, supper was at the El Dorado and then we moved down to the Secret Pool where we did our first dances, throwing the garter and bouquet. We finished the night off in the lobby of the Colonial because there was always a live band and a good party happening there. Most definitely the best day of my life. My question is regarding the cake. For our wedding cake we had the Mexican Cake. I don't have the slightest idea of what the cake was actually called. Now that we are home we are trying to get all the details in place for our AHR taking place in April. I had originally planned to do mini cupcakes but have changed my mind and would really like to duplicate the cake we had. Does anyone have any idea what this cake actually is called? It almost seemed like it was either chilled or frozen in the middle.
  2. So I am wondering how the heck am I supposed to get this back to Canada without wrecking it? I would like to have it as a keepsake but I don't quite know how without redoing it when we get home, which to me, sorta defeats the purpose. Any ideas
  3. Hi Ladies! We are just starting our planning for our 2010 Mayan Wedding. I am slightly stressed about a few things and am hoping someone can give me some advice. I have been getting a few prices back from a travel agent but am being told that they will only guarantee the group rate for 7 days. Within this 7 days we need to have 10 people book so that they can hold the price. I have been to a couple destination weddings and we never had to book this quickly. Anyone experience this or have any advise? Also, my fiance would really prefer to wait to book until the end of May or beginning of June. He thinks that we will have more people prepared to pay their deposit then. I would really prefer the sooner we get something in place the more at ease I will feel. I would hate for us to pick our resort and then find out that they don't have alot of options for wedding date/time. Any advise on when we should book or how quickly we need to pick a date/time??
  4. Hi there! My name is Lynette. We haven't decided on a location yet, I am waiting for our travel agent to get back to me with some pricing and choices. We are looking at either Punta Cana or Mayan though. We are also thinking end of January, beginning of February 2010. We are both very excited to see what the travel agent has for us, hopefully this week we will hear something!
