  1. I used to be uncomfortable with my FI knowing my weight...he was always very open with his and kind of expected me to also be open with mine but I just couldn't tell him! I felt so ashamed beacuse when we met I was a size 6! We've been together for 5.5 years I gained 45 lbs and was a size 12! When we both decided to commit to a healthier lifestyle and try to lose the weight, he said the only way we will be able to do it is if we tracked our results so we could make our goals more tangible. Since I was getting desperate at this point to lose the weight, I agreed and finally told him my #. He didn't make fun of me or say I was disgusting...even though I knew he wouldn't, as he is so supportive:) but my weight has always been a touchy subject for me... Anyway, coming to terms with not being embarassed by my weight is what helped me lose 30lbs since November and am now a size 8! Over this time, we tracked our weight every two weeks and even do our measurements. He has been so supportive and won't let me beat myself up. Being honest with each other and getting our embarassments out of the way helped us to focus on our goal. I know for sure I'll be able to get back to a size 6, with his support

The confirmation email is your formal confirmation, every once in a while just repeat the date and time as you communicate just so there's no misunderstandings. That's what I will do. 3. No need to be in DR 3 days prior, you can get married straight off the plane but you should get there at least 2 days before the wedding because you will be meeting with your WC the day before, possibly in the morning, and they will send a note to your room the day before that meeting, or the day you get there if its before that. 4. The WC performs the ceremony, since its symbolic it could be anyone you want. I'm having a symbolic ceremony as well and a good friend of ours is performing the ceremony. 5. It all depends on where you live. Check with your local courthouse and ask how long it takes to receive your marriage license and plan accordingly. 5. I asked Maritee a similar question...I may do a catholic wedding prior to going down and she said if the marriage certificate wasn't available that a copy of the Record of solemnization of marriage would be enough proof.

I LOVE this so much and I have lost 7 pounds and feel so much better! WOW!!!! great work AshleyMichelle! great attitude! you're approaching your rest week, I bet you're relieved you're right! after a while, some of the workouts grow on you my favourites are core synergistics, kenpo and shoulders and arms...my least favourite are probably plyometrics and legs and back....they just KILL my legs to the point that I can't even wear my heels to walk! I haven't been on track as I'd like in this second round of P90X but I figure I still have time since my wedding is in April 2010...those last 10lbs WILL go!!!
  4. Here is the pricing and other info I got from Flori, the WC. PRICING.doc INFO_BARCAZA.doc
  5. thanks Josh! we do have a TA but I've found she really isn't into going above and beyond...my fiancee chose her So, I was thinking if I could tell her which tour operators do have less than 1 week stays, then that would narrow the search down for her in terms of getting a rate...
  6. Hey everyone... do any of the Canadian MC brides know of a tour operator that offers a packaged rate for less than 1 week stays at the Majestic? I have a few people who want to just come down for 4 days 3 nights or 5 days 4 nights and when you look at booking flight and hotel seperately, it's really pricey! thanks! Jess

There are a couple things to consider with doing this, which I will ask for you. 1. Since you aren't getting the open bar, how late will they let you be there? 2. Do you care if the guests that are on the inside don't have the table set up like a wedding? If you don't mind then basically it would just be set up for a large reservation at the steakhouse. 3. The price breakdown of doing this. For example - are they charging you so much per dinner and then a rental fee for the overall space? I am actually quite surprised that they let you use this space for dancing, cake cutting and a general party. Its surprising because it is so close to a bar. So I am going to ask for other couples if it would be possible to have the free dinner on the inside of the restaurant and then rent the private area for a couple hours for dancing and cake cutting. That way you can have an area for private dancing which is right next to a free bar. Hey Josh! Can you take some pictures of the area Anna_C is talking about? I am really interested to see what the dinner setup is like and where the dancing, cake cutting etc would take place...
  8. I would really be interested in knowing if there is etiquette for this! I sent my boarding pass save the dates 2 weeks ago and not many guests have visited our website...I'm thinking it's because they may be lazy and don't want to type out our website address or maybe they think it's so far in advance that they don't need to RSVP or maybe...they just don't like us either way, I am concerened because I know of 4 other brides getting married in the same week at the Majestic Colonial and I'm worried there won't be enough rooms if the other brides have families and friends who aren't fence sitters! soooo frustrating!

  10. Hey Jily! welcome! I've been to the Gran Bahia Principe in Riviera Maya twice now (stayed at Akumal) and I LOVE this resort for a vacation...but I'm not sure about a wedding...when I checked out packages for our wedding it seemed they really nickle and dimed you for EVERYTHING and I felt some other resorts offered more for what you're paying... In terms of your criteria, here's my opinions: Pricing max $2500, but ideally around $1800 all in - definitely think this is doable! Can't be Adults Only - kids club/activities looked super fun on the Tulum resort Must have a disco - yep, they have one but I've heard of ther brides booking it and then the disco was "closed" or not available Willing to pay extra for wedding package - would definitely have to do this! Food is very important - AMAZING buffets and A LOT of food choices...their International Gourmet restaurants are fantastic BUT are not available for the wedding dinner Looking for a semi-private wedding (ie. no speedo-clad observers @ ceremony) - the area on the beach in the Akumal section was relatively secluded...I didn't see very many lurkers in the background but the loaction was very windy both times we saw it (February, and end of March). The Tulum location has a beautiful gazebo and is on a hill overlooking the beach...I would choose this location for sure! Looking for 4 or 5 Star - I'd say this is a 4.5 Want a fun reception with music, dancing, food, etc. Would like it fairly private - doable, we discussed many options with the WC. GOOD LUCK and happy planning!
  11. oh! I love fruits and could eat apples, oranges and grapes all day long sorry for assuming! you should take pictures and take measurements! we did because I was really hard on myself not thinking I looked any different...the pics really help you to stay on track and also provide motivation to keep on going
  12. Thanks JCrosby!!! I'll feel like a million bucks once I hit my goal AshleyMichelle - I did the P90X classic mainly because my fitness level when I began was so low ie I had pretty much no muscle base...one thing I learned (and it may be obvious) was that only doing cardio will not help you shed the fat, you really need to change the composition of your body and build a muscle base so when you do cardio, you are able to burn more calories! yay! In terms of eating lots of fruits and vegetables...if you look at the P90X portion approach in the Fat Shredder eating plan, it suggests only having 1 fruit portion a day...I was really surprised about this too! fruits are great but do have a lot of sugar in them... anyway good luck, it's great you are seeing results!!!!
  13. Hi All! P90X is AMAZING! I am currently in my first week of my second round of P90X! My fiancee and I started our first round in November of 2008 and finished in February 2009. It was hard staying committed not only to the work out but also eating the P90X Fat Shredder way...and definitely difficult staying on track during Christmas holiday was SUPER tough but it was SO worth it. When I startred, my fitness level was poor, taking 4 flights of stairs at work left me out of breath consistently... I am 5"3 and my start weight was 165 lbs!!! After finishing the program in February I was 142lbs. Between February and now I have just been doing cardio workouts 3 times a week and sticking to the P90X energy booster diet and am down to 135 lbs! My fiancee has had similar results! The best part of P90X was doing it with the fiancee and growing and changing together (as corny as that sounds). It was definitely easier having his support. We are doing it again, as I try to shed my last 10 lbs before my wedding in APril 2010. Best of luck to ANY ladies doing this program. If anyone needs any tips, let me know!!! Jess
  14. Hi Anna, you mention the Parrot Bar is "small" how many people would it seat comfortably? thanks! Jess
  15. awesome photos! did she have to pay extra for the "cupcake cake"? it's so cute!
