  1. If you are getting married at the Atlantis, the complimentary limo will stop for you at the local liquor store- get soda, wines, champagne, water(for our OOT bags). It went perfect!
  2. [same experience with Floral Arts, but overall a great experience- even though they get you with some of their fees- other resorts charge your guest a lot higher hotel prices... and Everyone loves to say they were at the Atlantis! seeing your parents on the tubes is the best, and the food was great!
  3. I just was married at the Atlantis and it was a wonderful destination wedding!!!! I had a small amount of guest- got married on Cove Beach- Shenique my wedding coordinator was superb! We were able to do a welcome party along with the Reception- which we had outside - no rain and perfect at the Dragon's Den! oh it was a fantastic site as one part can be used as a dance floor, than seating and then people can wander down to the next leve for privacy. Even though- you think the prices are outrageous (sp?) and the lack of choices of Vendors a bit much- I have to say with my first desire to do the British Virgin Islands- you have to take into account your guest- most hotels who have "cheaper wedding packages" but a lot of responsiblity on the guest to pay out of pocket for a 375 hotel room without the class and guarantee of quality of the Atlantis, let alone the flight to other islands- nassau is affordable these days. It was great because we were able to all get together and do the adult lazy river together, we went on the bahama mama cruise- they all loved. and if a bit of a nice bachelor/bachelorette party at the night club. Everything was great- no regrets. loved our preacher, Shawn McKenzie, our violionist, and our photography from the resort- Oh! and the food was beyond perfect! It was better than any meal in the resort- the Chiliean Sea Bass and Jerk Chicken was a win! We also used our own IPOD with loud speakers and my brother as a DJ- and it went over well. Especially with an intimate crowd. Downside- my order from Floral Arts was not what I asked but it worked, and the champagne list and wine was very limited and pricey. But overall- Everyone loved the weekend stay and I was able to spend time with each of my guest in a way that a 20,000 wedding day you would never be able to have. Only other advice- you may feel like they aren't working with you and things aren't all together, do negotiate, but overall, when you get there, the wedding coordinators and staff are working so hard for you. Shenique was like my maid of honor! She was availabe and I mean available and working so hard when we arrived. She's the best!

  5. Okay, I am a bride that got totally sucked into the dream of getting married at the Atlantis! My fiance and I were first really focused on the BVI's and Virgin Islands as we sailed around the islands with my friends and fell in love even more and with him being British and me, American, we thought we could intergrate the islands.. but with investigation and knowing the islands. The hotel standards for those travelling and the lack of discounted rooms , it just didn't seem practical to pay 400 dollars a night for my guest rooms and have them pay for the expensive flight to the islands as some were coming from Britain also. So we looked around and Atlantis has been another destination want for us. We looked at other sites in the bahamas and they all seemed to have the 3000 dollar site fee and the bonus about the Atlantis was knowing you would get a modernized room for a 50 percent discount with rooms over 10. so we were sold. But the details and the 150 min was sold that we could use this for a welcoming party and also our reception. but as it has turned out we had to argue alot as this was how it was sold to us as the reception itself for a basic reception totalled to be about 175 a person. So far we are negotiating and cutting out some things that would have been nice. luckily I am not worried about making everyone happy and they all understand but definately the Atlantis makes it difficult to do the little perks or even the simple luxuries that one would have at their wedding. If anyone has any more questions please ask me and I can provide more details. ~nadine

  7. Hello all, I am in the sea of getting all the little details together for my wedding on May 9th 2009 with my British Fiance. It is more overwhelming than I thought. I thought a destination wedding would be the "simple" way and wanted something just to flow and be relaxed but I guess when you are still money concious in our economy today, I find myself in haggling and now the little things become combersome(sp?). Overall, I can't wait for the day let alone the holiday of it all! Wishing you all the best in your wedding planning, Nadine
