  1. Oh oops, I forgot to mention some negative things: no hot water, my room got flooded the day before my wedding b/c a pipe broke and the bottom of my dress got wet (but they took it to the cleaners immediately & we got upgraded to the master suite), and the hotel was overbooked so they kept trying to get my guests to stay elsewhere - but besides that it was great. Oh and I got in a fight with a "KAPITAN" at Oceana Grill, but the restaurant was amazing!
  2. Girls, So sorry I have not yet made a review. All I could say though is that everything was amazing - from the flight, to Claudia, to the salon, to the gazebo. Here are links to my fb albums w/ the wedding pictures. I had my cocktail hour in the garden, ceremony at the gazebo, and my reception at el caribe beach. In one of the albums I also have some pictures from my TTD shoot. I brought my photographer, videographer, musicians from new york, and my rabbi from florida. If you have any q., feel free to ask b/c I really don't know when I'll get my review done by. Good luck everyone Login | Facebook Login | Facebook

Our appointment was made for the next day at 10 am. My husband and I arrived on time and waited 45 min. for Claudia to show up. Once she did we went into the business center and got our wedding details squared away. Our rehearsal was Sat 6/26 @ 3pm. We all showed up but the rain started to pour (Hurricane Alex) .. So she stated the wedding would have to be moved inside the next day which was no problem.. She gave me 3 options to where I could have my ceremony. First one was in the lobby where they would make it private just for me and my 65 guests. The second one was the Himitsu restaurant where they would clear out for our wedding party as well. Lastly, was the nightclub which was an absolute NO! So we decided on the lobby which we thought would look pretty because of all the different colors.. So we did our run through with Claudia no where to be found. She came and stated we can no longer have it in the lobby. So then we chose Himitsu she then stated no for that as well. So I asked her what my other options were. She told me the only option they have is the nightclub!! I was horrified!!! I asked her to speak to a manager. Let me tell you apparently Dreams Resort managers will not come out and talk to guests!!!! So I told her I would like my entire invoice refunded back which they agreed to. I would not receive that until Monday because of there accounting department. So I told her thats not a problem I will need something in writing. She finally provided me with the written form. So right after that I went searching for a hotel who would accommodate my needs. Krystal hotel ended up accepting my offer which was amazing. I saved $4000 by having it there and it turned out fantastic!!! ALMA is amazing and actually has her own office can you believe that the wedding coordinator has her own office hahahha!!! Everything was included from DJ MANANA to a 5 course meal!!! Our friends and family were so pleased... P.S. For those who were discussing how dreams over booked there rooms due to expedia is wrong.. I had 10 guests moved to hyatt and they booked through my travel agency 6 months in advance!!!! They absolutely had the worst customer service!!! I am so sorry you had to go through that, but it seems that everything happens for a reason b/c it sounds like you still had an amazing time. My guests also ran into an overbooking problem. They booked months in advance and everyone was asked if they could possibly move to Hyatt. I think they were even leaving notes under doors saying that if they'd move they would get 3 free nights some other time. I don't know how that happened. My brother was on the phone with his TA for most of my wedding week because there was some huge mixup. Thank god it worked out okay and we got day passes for those staying at other hotels. It all worked out okay in the end, but Dreams should definitely fix that problem- it's really nerve wrecking. On a brighter note, congrats!!!!!!!! Enjoy married life! Michelle

  6. Girls, I'm backk and married! My wedding was an absolute fairytalee! Claudia and my parents worked behind my back to throw in some surprises and everything from hair, makeup, flowers, gazebo, reception setup etc etc was just simply fantastic! I'll be writing my review within the next few days! But WOW i am obsessed loll i want to do it all again, so jealous of all the brides with weddings coming up!
  7. Congrats (again)!!! You were a gorgeous brideee & from what I saw of your wedding, it was beautiful!
  8. Hey, this info is probably somewhere on here but I can't find it: from the buffet menus how much can you choose from each?
  9. Wait, if my guests want to go to Desires after the wedding, and some aren't guests at the hotel - how much will it cost to have them all enter? Do you think they're strict and we could just sneak them in lol?
  10. Hey, we're also doing fans and pashminas for women only. For men we're getting cigars and I don't know what else yet. Honestly, it's usually the women who even care about favors and remember to bring them home. Men will be happy with cigars and maybe those little travel size tequila bottles or something.

Hey I'm having my reception at the carribean beach in a little over 2 wks .. if it's not too late for you I'll send you pictures and tell you how the other beach is.

It was finished when we left on Friday-they were finishing putting some last paint touches on it. Good news is the 6 of us who had our weddings this past week weren't affected. Some of us got finished dome gazebos while the others had open air gazebos. I got the open air gazebo and absolutely loved it!. Congrats Liz! I probably should've checked on here before bombarding you with questions in my email, haha - I'd love any tips/ advice on a Jewish ceremony - & these pics look amazing!
