Just found this thread and wanted to chime in. I am looking into Playacar as well. The resort looks great with good reviews. I hate that the beach is so small but maybe we can walk to another resort to enjoy the beach. Has anyone finalized Playacar as their DW location?

I have seen a lot of DW brides that made "airline ticket" STD's and passport invites. THey are so cute and the templete is available online. Do a search on here and you will find a lot. If you dont mind me asking...I would like to know why you decided against Jamaica. I am trying to choose between Jamaica and Mexico myself. It looks as if Mexico will be cheaper for my guest which I am happy about. I want my guest to pay around $1000 for an AI 4 night trip including airfare. Thanks for sharing....

This post was really helpful! Does anyone know how far in advance prices become available? For instance I am looking into having my DW in June 2010 and as of right now the only flight and hotel prices that are out are up until Dec. 2009. It is so frustrating trying to choose between Cancun and Jamaica. I really want the trip to be affordable for my guest and would like to give everyone advance notice to save up.

How are the rooms at Dreams? When I showed my mom and FI the photos they said the bathrooms look very outdated with nasty grout. Did anyone else have this problem or feel the same way? I LOVE the wedding gazebo....but don't want my guest to feel I have them staying at an dirty hotel(compared to others in Cancun). Please help....thanks.

I have seen many post of ppl having their reception at Evita's in Ocho Rios. All the rave reviews have me interested. I contacted Eva via email and she is very responsive and seems to be a sweetheart. Eva asked me to send her my budget, pick the food I want to have and we would work from there. My question is I don't know what I should budget for my reception. I don't want to give her a quote that is too high or too low. I will have between 45-70ppl attending. Thanks in advance for all the help....

Im another GA Peach! Born in San Fran, CA raised in lilburn/st. mtn right outside of Atlanta. Graduated from GA State and moved to Riverside, CA right after graduation for a job offer and well after a year and half....I'm back in the ATL!!!! My fiance never moved so I had to come back to him....and I missed my sweet tea! There's no place like HOME! The only thing Atlanta is missing is a beach (the man made one in Clayton County doesn't count)! I live in Dunwoody now. BTW...I'm getting married in Ocho Rios, Jamaica!!!! Jennifer

On average how much does it cost to have your ceremony and reception at the Ruins - and what was included?

Are all 120 of your guest staying at the Breeze Runaway Bay? If not, how much are day passes?

I am new to the boards but I am looking into having my "off-site" wedding because my future hubby has lots of family in Jamaica and most hotels charge a fee for guest not staying at the hotel. Our wedding is in June 2010 and we will have around 50-70 guests. Anyways I am also awaiting pricing from venues but I found a few that look good and can handle big amount of guest - The Ruins at the Falls (Ocho Rios), The Coyaba Gardens and Mahoe Falls, and The Shaw Park Beach. Look these places up online. Hope this helps.
