  1. Hello!! I just wanted to say that we were just married in Manuel Antonio Feb. 14th, 09:) It was beautiful! We were married on Playitas and then had the reception on the patio of one of our rental villas. It was a perfect night. We didn't have a wedding planner, we used our house concierge to assist us with any information we needed and he was WONDERFUL. Our houses were actually right near a pp's hotel- Si Como No. We were a bit further up the road but then down on the side of the mountain with a beautiful sunset view. We used El Velo Photography (they service all of Costa Rica) and I highly recommend them. Here are some of our pictures: lahryn & brent Scroll past all the names (or click on some if you want to see other weddings!). Juan Carlos was our photographer and he was fantastic. We had William Munoz as an officiant- through Marcelo Galli. Here is a list of villas in Manuel antonio: Manuel Antonio Area Vacation Rentals - VRBO® is Vacation Rentals by Owner Manuel Antonio Area - Manuel Antonio Area Hotels, Manuel Antonio Area Lodging, Manuel Antonio Area Travel and Tourism We rented these two (the patio on the blue house was where we had the reception:) : Costa Rica Vacation Hotel Quepos Manuel Antonio - Complete Villa Manuel Antonio Rental - House We walked by these houses daily and they are beautiful: Costa Rica Villa - Villa Manuel Antonio Costa Rica - Villa with four full suites I'm sure there are more. I would also recommend the hotel byblos. We went there for breakfast one day and dinner another. The staff was very friendly and food was excellent. There isn't an ocean view but a wonderful rainforest one instead. It is definately a tourist area, so be prepared for that.. but the clubs were fun, resturants were great, ocean was perfect, no complaints at all. I highly, highly, recommend a visit to Manuel Antonio, we intend on a return trip for our first anniversary:) GOod luck! (and congratulations!
  2. Hi!! We had our wedding February 14th.. it was WONDERFUL! if you want to see some pictures you can look at http://spencercostarica.shutterfly.com/ We were in Manuel Antonio and stayed at these two villas: Vacation Villa Manuel Antonio Costa Rica and Gminis del Pacfico Costa Rica Vacation Home & Gemini PropertiesChicago Apartment Rentals They're right next to each other (one is on higher ground, you have to walk down a large staircase to get to the other house). Both houses were great, it depends on your wedding party size though! We had a lady come and prepare the meal for us and also baked the cake. the food was AMAZING. For both the cake and food/preperation it was about $600. The wedding was on Playitas and was just perfect, very few other people on the beach. We used El Velo Photography (these are our pictures, if you scroll down past all the other names). lahryn & brent and had Juan Carlos as our photographer. He was amazing. I highly recommend him I think my only complaint about having the reception at our villa was that people immediately changed out of their dressy clothes and were sitting around in their comfy clothes. They also weren't up for dancing, I think because there was only 25 of us... I almost wish we would have gone to a night club or something, to liven things up a bit, but then our parents/kids wouldn't have gone.... it was very fun, just a bit more tamed down than I had expected If you have any questions, you can send me a message on facebook, search email address [email protected] I don't check the email address though, so I won't respond to an email there. I hope you and your fiance have a fantastic time and I would love to offer any advice I can!! Lahryn
  3. Hey ladies, I'm selling my wedding dress. I bought the dress and then found out that we're expecting a baby, so the dress no longer works! It's absolutely perfect for a destination wedding- (we are planning our beach wedding in Costa Rica in February.) The dress is in white, strapless (comes with straps), size 10. It's a tea length dress that has a lace train in the back that hangs to the floor. The dress is beautifully beaded with pearls and very The dress has has only been tried on once in store, still has the tags, no alterations. It's still in the plastic & has only been taken out twice (once to try on, once to take pictures of to post on here!) I hate the thought of this dress sitting in my closet and would love to see it on one of you beautiful brides. If you have any more questions or would like to see pictures, please just email me at [email protected] This is the link to the Alfredo Angelo website: Alfred Angelo... 4. We're using El Velo Photography for our February wedding. You could try them.. I'm really excited and they've been wonderful with communcation. I've heard great things about them... Good luck!
  5. Thanks ladies!! I must say, I'd rather be a former Michigander right now- we just had 6-8 inches of snow dumped on us last night- ughhh... How many days until Costa Rica?
  6. Hi! I had a beautiful tea length dress from Alfred Angelo- Unfortunately we're expecting, so I had to exchange it for a different dress:) this is the link for the dress: I purchased it from a local bridal shop for $475, so it's a decent price too. AA has other tea length dresses... Good luck! Alfred Angelo... Find the perfect Wedding Dress, Bridesmaid Dress, Prom Dress, Flower Girl Dress or Mother of the Bride Dress at Alfred Angelo.
  7. Hey everyone! Just dropping in to introduce myself. I'm Lahryn my fiance, Brent, and I are getting married on February 14, 2009 in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica! We're getting very, very excited for the wedding as it's in about a month! Can't wait for the wedding AND the vacation:) As for planning, we've wrapped that all up as we went a low-stress way and are more worried about enjoying ourselves than having an elaborate wedding:) Looking forward to geting to know you all. Lahryn
  8. Thats a beautiful villa.. Were you planning on having the wedding and reception at the villa? I was noticing that there doesn't seem to be any large open places.. I suppose the size needed depends on the number of guests though! I don't know where you've been looking for villas but I found ours through VRBO is Vacation Rentals By Owner it has a wonderful listing of villas all over costa rica (and other locations too). This is one we looked at renting but was booked for the week we wanted the wedding. It's a beautiful 10 br compound rigth on the beach. Its further south than the other villa though. But it has gorgeous balconies & lots of room. I wish we could have gotten this compound! I think that Manuel Antonio/Quepos have more activities than where this house is located though.. Dominical Vacation Rental - 5 Villa Compound These are the two houses we ended up renting... hopefully they're just what we're looking for.. i'll let you know after the wedding (feb. 14) We're having the wedding on the nearby beach and the reception on the patio of the pink house. Puntarenas Costa Rica - House Good luck!
  9. I've heard great things about Tropical occasions. I'm getting married in Manuel Antonio in Feb. but have done the planning by myself. Everyone I've contacted had great things to say about them- so good luck!
