  1. There are quite a few stray cats at the hotel. They are very friendly and are hoping for scraps. They had a Mexican market the night of our wedding... the donkey was part of it and my photographer grabbed a shot of him. The hotel is amazing. As a wedding photographer myself I was on inspiration overload, dragging my photographers to different locations to get shots. It was seriously a photographer's dream. And the perfect spot for a wedding.
  2. Skadow - They don't seem to be showing up anymore for me either. Here's a link to them on my facebook... Danielle Finley's Photos - Wedding Photos Bella Luce Photography | Facebook
  3. My wedding photographer was absolutely wonderful and well priced. I believe we spent around $2200, we got a disk of all the photos with the printing rights, 2 days of shooting (full day wedding then TTD the next day), and that included their flight and hotel stay. Here's some of my photos on facebook: Danielle Finley's Photos | Facebook And here's her website: Bella Luce Photography I can't guarantee her prices are the same now but worth checking out!
  4. amy, The buggy is a two seater, so it only fit me and my dad. Cristi, We had about 30 people. We also had our dinner at the Mundaca and they set up a long table on the terrace there. It was pretty private, we weren't bothered at all by anybody. They did a wonderful job making us feel like we were the only people there, bringing us special cocktails in our wedding colors, and taking care of us. Our table pretty much took up the whole terrace so there was only a couple other people outside and they weren't too close to us.
  5. amy, The buggy is really fun. You'll enjoy it. If you have a long veil, be careful to keep an eye on the end of it. My veil got caught in the wheel of the buggy and tore to shreds. We had to pull it off before I walked down the aisle. It was awful!! Here's my torn veil... haha
  6. amywuts, Depending on when the wedding is you may be able to get away with having it in one of the pool areas. Many of the pool areas were completely dead at night when we were there. Also you have the option of going to the disco. We didn't have a private reception but instead just took over the disco after dinner and it was a blast! There's a bar in there and the DJs know instantly that you're a wedding party so they run around and have fun with you. We had so much fun doing this.
  7. My wedding shoes were from Betsy Johnson. They were also my something blue! Them on me...
  8. I did! I wore a second dress after dinner when we went out dancing. It as fun wearing a second dress and I got as many compliments on it as I did on my wedding dress! haha! Here's my dress, from Betsy Johnson:
  9. Yes, there's a gazebo on the family side (Cove Palace) and one on the adult side (Spa Palace) ... We choose the Cove Palace, family side for a few reasons. First of all, when we were there the resort was dead so there wasn't an issue of whether or not either one had too many people around it. If the resort is at full capacity I would imagine the Spa Palace gazebo would probably be a better choice. But since we didn't have the problem, I got my first choice. The Spa Palace gazebo has these trash cans literally right next to the gazebo. They aren't huge or anything but I thought they took away from it. It's also all the way on the end of the resort so there's a fence that outlines the resort lining up next to the gazebo. The fence is green and pretty ugly. I didn't want that in my scenery. There's also some rooms that over look the gazebo so you may have spectators there. The Cove Side (family) gazebo was right next to the restaurant we were having dinner (Mundaca, the steak house) so it was very convenient and made things run very smoothly. Overall, I just found the Cove Side gazebo to be in a nicer location. But it's all about taste. A lot of brides really loved the privacy of the Spa Side gazebo. If you head over to the Aventura Spa Palace thread there's a lot of information there. Good luck with your planning!

  11. Thank you ladies for the compliments! We had a blast! Wish I was back!
  12. We were married there at the end of October and there was only 1 other wedding our day. We had no idea except just hearing from guests at the resort. I wouldn't worry about other weddings going on. They're professionals and know how to handle it. Check out the Aventura Spa Palace thread, that will have most the information you'll need for your planning.

We had light throughout the whole wedding and enough light to get a good amount of post wedding shots and group shots but definitely not enough to move around the resort and get pictures. We stayed in one location for the post wedding shots. If you want to take advantage of the beautiful grounds I would say either do an earlier wedding or do your pictures before the ceremony.
  14. We took our DVD home with us because we stayed at Aventura for our honey moon. It took about 3 or 4 days to get it.
