  1. Keira, I'm totally with you on the " standard" ceremony. The only thing we may do is tweak the vows part just a little, but I'm not sure. I have to keep telling myself the reason we did this destination wedding was so it would be minimal planning, minimial stress. But all you ladies are so creative and ambitious that sometimes I feel pressured to keep up with everyone! Ha! So, does anyone know what the "sand ceremony" is like? Maritee asked me if we were having one and I said I wasn't sure yet, but she didn't elaborate. Is it beach sand? Do we need to bring our own vases or something? Maritee is on vacation until Monday and of course I have like 15 questions piling up to ask her and bombard her with when she gets back! Happy Planning, everyone! It is almost time! Cherie
  2. Hi ladies, I'm getting quite stressed.. but still excited! We are getting married 11-06, having a symbolic ceremony. Is anyone just going to use the ceremony that they give you? Or is everyone writing their own? I hadn't even thought of this! Does anyone know what the ceremony for a symbolic ceremony is like? Thanks for all your help! Cherie
  3. Hi ladies, I just wante to check it so I can feel in touch with some other brides! We're getting married Nov 6 in Punta Cana. The 5 month mark hit and I feel the pressure is on!!! I have kind of put the wedding planning to the side for a little while because we are also in the process of buying our first home! But that is well under way so I am back in wedding planning mode! Our only option for a ceremony is at 1 pm and I'm sort of perplexed on how to fill the time until dinner time. I was thinking about a cocktail hour etc. Does anyone have a similiar wedding time? What are you doing? I'm so excited!!!! Cherie
  4. Hi everyone! I am so glad to find this thread! I was just freaking out this morning that I had no idea what I was suppose to be doing 6 months from the wedding! We are getting married Nov 6,2009 at Majestic Colonial in Dominican Republic. Here is what is going on with me: Things that are done: -Wedding dress is bought (actually ordered online from Neiman Marcus and not technically a wedding dress but GORGEOUS and simple) -Rooms and flight book for me and future hubs -STDs sent out in Jan -Most of my immediate fam and best friends have booked (or at least reserved a room) -Wedding website is up Things to do: -find invitations -find something for future hubs to wear -correspond with resort about flowers, cake, reception (all of which i have no idea about) -find a veil -start buying OOT bags -figure out how to get married at the courthouse before hand -ceremony music? -photographer? -wedding colors? -stop stressing about how long my to do list is It helps to read what you ladies are up to! -
  5. We are getting married at the Majestic Colonial Nov 6, 2009...so it's about 6 months away. When did you ladies start planning the details of the wedding? How far in advance did you correspond with the resort WC about things like flowers, cake flavor, reception, etc? Am I behind schedule or too early? I have no idea!! Any help would be great! Thanks!
  6. Hi, My name is Cherie and my fiance's name is Ian. We are just starting to plan our wedding for the DR in November 2009. I'm a little overwhelmed with decisions to make up front, so I'm excited to read others' input!
