  1. We got married a month ago at Dreams Cancun, where Mannia is the prefered vendor. I sent him a list of music i like a week before the wedding, and they did an AMAZING job. Unfortunately I do not know the name of my specific DJ, but I'm sure they are all very good. Kept the entire group dancing, was very responsive to requests, and as I changed my mind about the order of things as the reception went on, he just rolled with it and did what I asked as if it was the original plan. I was very very happy with the choice.
  2. I got married at Dreams about a month ago...the only things i had set on my contract before going down there was the time and the location. I didn't tell them how many people were coming until the day I got down there...just that i'd have somewhere between 20 and 50. I spent about half an hour with Cecilia (who is amazing by the way) on my arrival date and we got it all figured out. Since I was the only bride on my day, i could even have changed the time and location if i'd wanted to.

  4. I was planning on doing my cocktail hour on the terrace, and my reception in the garden...but it looks like the terrace is bigger than I was imagining from other pictures I'd seen. Was there enough room with all those round tables to also have a dance floor/dj? There will be between 40 and 50 people at my wedding, I think. Also, If I did do the reception in the garden, was it bright enough after the sunset with the tiki torches/lights that they put out? (If anyone here has done that...) Which place do you think is more private? (I know that neither of them is terribly private).

  8. Does anyone know what we need to do to set up hair/makeup appointments, and how far in advance? I want to get mine and my bridesmaids booked, because some other people are asking me if there is a salon on site...and i don't want them to take up all the appointments!
  9. If Azucar is actually on Dreams, shouldn't the drinks be included anyways? I think i'm confused! Also, does anyone know if you can bring your own minister? My Uncle is a minister and I would rather have him perform the ceremony, would feel more special than some random person I hadn't met before, but I don't want to ask him until i know they will let him do it, and I don't want to ask the WC, because i'm afraid if I ask them we will get wires crossed and they will think I have my own minister even if it doesn't work out with my uncle...the language barrier is a struggle :-/
  10. This may be a stupid question...but what is Azucar?? I've been keeping up with the posts but maybe I missed it somewhere.

You might want to check with the WC.

My ceremony is late and my Reception will probably eb around 7:30/8:00 and I am really thinking of trying to have it in the Spa area. I remember loving the pictures (That I can't find..LOL) I guess I'm just hoping for a review or if any of you know what the heck I am talking about :-) In other news, I think I am booking DJ Doremixx..He is really cheap and I am hearing good things about him!! Let's hope Dreams lets him in!! LOL I remember seeing some pretty pictures from the spa area too, but I'm pretty sure I also remember seeing that it used to be an option and they decided not to do it anymore because they kept having to close the spa down for weddings. I'm pretty sure they don't allow that as an option anymore.
  14. Ack, i was waiting on word back that my deposit had made it through. I've been trying really hard not to stress about much in the planning...and really haven't worried too much when responses have been slow...but this is freaking me out a little
