  1. I also used Suzanne Morel and was very impressed! I have VERY thin, baby fine hair so I used a strip of fake hair in the back to give it more volume. I was terrified that they wouldn't know what to do, but her girls were pros! My hair looked amazing! I gave them a general idea of what I wanted and they exceeded my expectations. Suzanne doesn't do the hair or make-up herself, but she manages all the girls and is there the whole time. I loved my makeup too.... if they were local, I would use them for all my big to-do events! Here's a slideshow to see how it turned out! http://www.juancarlostapia.com/s/dre...sti/index.html
  2. OH, they are both good choices! We ended up using Juan Carlos and couldn't be happier! His work is very consistent and he's sooo easy to work with. I have so many good pics to choose from that it's hard to pick a fav! You'll be in good hands either way, but my experience is with Juan and he's worth every penny! http://www.juancarlostapia.com/s/dre...sti/index.html
  3. Just thought I would share our wedding photos that were taken at The Sheraton. It might give you some ideas!! You can't go wrong with the Sheraton. There are so many beautiful places to take pictures!!! Congratulations! (the slideshow name says dreams, but it's at the Sheraton) http://www.juancarlostapia.com/s/dre...sti/index.html
  4. We did our photos at The Sheraton - Hacienda del Mar and the TTD photos at a public beach. (it wasn't Lover's Beach) Take a look at the slideshow and let me know if you want me find out the name of the beach we were at. We went about an hour before sunset and it was almost empty. I think it's much easier to get in the water where we were at vs Lover's Beach because the rocks break the waves. The water is a little cooler, but it's not that bad. Just depends on what type of photos you're looking for. There are lots of good spots to choose from in Cabo! http://www.juancarlostapia.com/s/dre...sti/index.html
  5. I used Suzanne and was blown away with their work! We got married in the states and I used a very expensive make-up artist that had lots of published work in magazines, etc. We had some wedding photos done in Cabo a week after our "real" wedding and I think Suzanne's staff did a better job! Suzanne was professional and responded very quickly. Hope that helps!
  6. I just attended a friend's wedding at these resorts in April 09 and will see if she minds me posting some of her wedding pics on here. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the "beach" wedding is at the same location no matter which of the 3 resorts you stay at. My friend stayed at La Estancia, but her beach wedding was on the del Arco side of the resort. There is a trolly that will take you from resort to resort, so you won't have to walk. It also makes for some really cute pictures! Just make sure you understand that there are 3 resorts on this property and 2 of them are 100% private. This means that if you stay at La Estancia and some of your guests stay at del Arco they are only allowed to visit the common areas during certain times and you must sign them in. Being closer to town is great, especially if you are not going to rent a car as taxi rides can add up quick. There is a super Wal-Mart and a City Club within a mile of the resort and I would recommend at least buying snacks and water (wine, beer, mixers, etc.) for your room from here. A MUST for breakfast is Lenny's Deli... it's across the street from the City Club. They have awesome food and great prices. We have the eggs benedict with crab meat several mornings during our stay... it's rich, but sooo yummy. My husband and I have been to Cabo 5 times in the last 3 years, and have stayed at a different resort each time. We looked into having our wedding in Cabo, but decided to have it at home. We did however have our wedding photos taken at Hacienda del Mar by Juan Carlos Tapia (who was AMAZING) and attended this wedding a week after our own, so I know how wedding planning goes! I would be glad to answer any questions you have about Cabo, fishing, zip lines, shopping, food, golf, etc. I'll try to post some pics for you soon. Let me know if there is anything I can ask her for you. I know she had a great time and loved her wedding.
  7. I have two dresses that are made by Oleg Cassini style 2542 with tags still on! It would be perfect for a beach wedding or TTD! I have 2 of them, sz 6 and 10, ivory with silver. $150 each, orig $299 They are chiffon and very flowing! Pictures just don't do it justice! I have tried to upload pics, but I can't get them small enough! I will be listing these dresses on Bravobride.com or you can PM me with your email address and I will send you some pics. Sorry....
  8. You might also try oncewed.com and bravobride.com. They are also a good resource and show pictures!
  9. Beautiful unaltered sample Maggie Sottero wedding dress, Channing. Dress has some dirt on the underneath of the train, but otherwise ready to wear. Dress has been tried on, but never worn. It's a corset back, so it can be adjusted to fit. Most Maggie dresses run a size small, so I would guess this dress would fit size 8-12 and can easily be altered. I can't post pictures, but am more than willing to email you some and any additional measurements you need. You can go to Maggie's website at Channing - by Maggie Sottero Asking $400 Thanks and happy wedding planning!
  10. I'm interested in your lanterns, organza bags and hair twists! Trying to PM you, but having trouble!
  11. Welcome and Congrats! I'm new too, but so far this site has been great!
  12. I just PM'd you about the paper lanterns and white light kits! Thanks!
  13. I love the dress! If it's still available, please let me know. I'm new to the site, so if I'm supposed to be emailing you directly I'm sorry. It's the perfect size! Thanks!
  14. Hello, I'm new to the site, but have been browsing for ideas over the past few months. I wanted to say THANKS to everyone for all the great information you have posted! Many of your detailed reports led me to the most amazing photographer, Juan Carlos Tapia (in Cabo)! We are getting married on June 13th, 2009. I had always dreamed of a beach wedding, but due to our family's travel needs we needed to find a compromise. What we decided.... April 16th, 09 - We're flying to Cabo and meeting with Juan Carlos for wedding type pictures (I will be in a dress, just not my "wedding dress") and TTD! We will be in Cabo April 18th - 20th anyway for a friend's wedding! Perfect! June 13th, 09 - We will be married in our hometown of Austin! Thanks again for making this site so helpful! Kristi
