  1. I stayed here back in February and it was amazing, probably one of the best resorts that I have ever stayed in. and certainly the best that I have stayed at in DR (although I hear Tortuga Bay is excellent but very $$$). Keep in mind that it is pricey, we paid approx $5K for a week so that may be a consideration for your guests.
  2. I used Pastor York and he was great to work with. My DH and I are both Jewish and he did a great job of incorporating some jewish wedding traditions into our ceremony. I would highly recommend him. He had everyone in tears with his beautiful speech.
  3. Karen - thank you, you are too kind. There were some photos that I cringed at so I would like to lose a few pounds for the next session. Yes I came from the city via LIRR to the Bayside station. It was fairly easy and fast to get there (about 25 minutes from Penn Station) and Jen was gracious enough to pick me up because she was driving by the neighborhood, otherwise it would have been a 10 minute cab ride from the LIRR Bayside station. If you'll be driving yourself, I think that it's a very easy trip, but I might be biased since I grew up in Bayside. Just mapquest it and you'll be fine. finleys - you look beautiful, Oksana did your makeup beautifully. I agree that this is very empowering. I had a great time doing it and I have recommended this to all my female friends.
  4. Mekanabr - I just checked the dinner package and beer is included in the private dinners. Plus I'm sure that if you ask one of the waiters, they would be happy to bring your guests mixed drinks if requested.

My appt is in the AM so I'm having the make-up done, but there's no time for hair so I think I'll just blow it out & maybe throw in some curls. Gorgeous pics btw! Karen, I did my hair myself, I just put in hot rollers and tousled it a bit, sprayed hairspray and that's it. I think you want a bit of a messy look for that bedroom hair, gettiing your hair professionally done isn't worth it IMO. Are you using Oksana for makeup? If so, you are going to be so thrilled. I literally screamed in excitement when I saw myself after she applied the makeup, she is very talented. Oksana is worth it 100%. I hope you share your pictures. I love looking at Jen's work. I am booked for another appt with her in a few months, I hope to lose some weight by then.
  6. Thank you mekanabr. The dinner includes soft drinks, water, juices, wine and champagne, and maybe beer but I don't remember for sure. We bought our own vodka and cognac since many of our guests were Russian older folks, shots of vodka are second nature to them.
  7. DH wore a white suit from a Ralph Lauren employee sample sale which I actually bought for him 4 years ago before we were even engaged - weird. He paired the suit with a white linen dress shirt and brown shoes/belt. He did not complain about the heat.
  8. Adenen - thank you. We didn't pay for a bartender. The waiters poured drinks for our guests, mainly shots of vodka and glasses of champagne/wine. I don't think that it makes sense to have a private bar at an all inclusive especially at their high hourly rates per person. It's crazy.
  9. Your TTD photos are outrageous. Congratulations on your amazing wedding.
  10. My best tip for a boudoir photoshoot is to get your makeup professionally done by either hiring a professional makeup artist or going to a department store and having it done at a Mac counter or something. I don't think that my pictures would have come out nearly as good if I did not have a professional artist. Finley, your photos are gorgeous. Did you see Jennifer? I recognize the beads and the bed. Here are some of my shots from jenerations photography:
  11. Eliana, thank you. It was a great day, even the rain was fun in retrsopect. MexicoBeachBride - I had a professional hair/makeup artist come to Majestic for 2 days. He is based in NY but he does travel for destination weddings. He is HIGHLY recommended. He did a really good job and also brightened my mood the day of the wedding with his eccentric outgoing personality. His name is Didi Benabo, if you are on facebook, you can find him there or I can give you his contact info if you are interested.
  12. This is the day after private dinner on the beach: We took trash the dress photos at Iberostar Grand with Huelas del Caribe, our photographer Milan was amazing, these are his pictures: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...8&l=ecb4799710 I hope to have Phil's TTD photos in the next few weeks.
