  1. Hi...thanks for responding! I thought my FI gave up on this but then last night he mentioned we should go. His mom has a timeshare that we would trade for this resort and then pay to have the all-inclusive. I looked on trip advisor and found a few reviews with some saying the food wasn't good but honestly, I think that's a gamble anywhere. It would probably be easier if we talked over email...I'm not on this board too much anymore. Can you email me when you get the information? I would LOVE to know any information you find. Email: kellyraeburton at yahoo dot com. Thanks!
  2. Has anyone ever been to Dreams La Ramona in the Dominican Republic? I think it's fairly new since 2008. If anyone has done any research, I would love to know about it. We are thinking about going there for our Honeymoon! Thanks!

It's nice to talk to someone first hand who has slept in the beds, eaten the food, and seen/planned the weddings. I also have 2 co-workers who stayed there recently and they said it was amazing! I feel very confident that we made a great choice by picking the Barcelo' Palace!!!! I would love any feedback Davematthews16, I'm in Denver too. Can you email me your wedding planner's info. I tried to PM you but it wouldn't let me. [email protected] Thanks, Kelly

Its $1000 not including any flowers or decorations (that is just to use the site and officiant I think)...def does not include bubbly! Sounds like you ladies got a hell of a deal - i'm so jealous! I have been working with a TA (I haven't HIRED one but one from Beach Bum Vacations). This is where I'm getting all my information and pricing. I'm not worried about a lot of people being there...mainly just my brother and his family (they are on the "MUST BE THERE" list). Sounds like some of you have some good TA's...can you recommend any to me? I would hate to hire one until I know they can get me a great deal. I'm not good at this messaging (PM) thing so either post on here or email me, please! (I'm having a hard time with this forum...I don't understand points and sometimes I can see things and other times I can't...not sure how you accumulate or use points)?!? 5. I need some help figuring things out. All I have ever wanted is a beach wedding with family and friends. I thought a destination wedding would be perfect and we would do Mexico because it would be cheapier to do all-inclusive. Well, I'm devistated because I've LITERALLY looked at every resort in Mexico (including the Dominican Republic) but for my guests it is so expensive. For my brother and his family (a total of 4-two children ages 4 and 7) it will cost around $5000 for a 5 day stay. Between the price of air fare and the resort (which charge for kids-usually around $500-some less but room rates are more) it is unreasonable for them to come (coming from AZ). It's just hard because I see sooo many brides doing these destination weddings with many guests (some with 40-80)...am I missing something? My Fiance and I talked about what is most important: beach wedding or having family at our wedding? I definitely turn to family but why can't I get both? We hardly have money for the actual wedding let alone to help pay their way. How in the world can I make this work?

How do you get points? I want to see your price break down and it tells me I don't have enough points. I'm fairly new to this site and don't understand that piece! HELP!

I would figure out what is most important to you guys (the rooms, the beach, the price ect.) and then pick a few resorts that seem to fit your needs, then break them down until you find the best fit!! It will be beautiful no matter where you are!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck! Hey there... Could I get the name of your TA in Colorado? I'm in Colorado and I'm having the HARDEST time finding a resort in my price range and I'll take any help I can get! Can you email me her contact info? [email protected]
  8. Is that the only pool? Are there any swim up bars? Does anyone have pictures of the larger pool (if they have one)?
  9. dmarie17, Thanks so much for the pics. I'm struggling on what resort to go to and which one is most affordable for our guests. Do you know if you can get married ON the beach at Dreams? Are there balconies to the rooms? (seems like all the pictures I see there are no balconies. How was the reception? Did the three hour limit go by fast? I can't wait to see your professional pics.
  10. PLEASE let me know about this...I'm dying to know! I hope your wedding went well!
  11. I too was looking at Azul. Did you decide on another resort? My Fiance and I have been so excited to have a destination wedding on the beach in the Riveria Maya. I have my sister-in-law and cousin helping me look at resorts and pricing. Just when I thought we were good to go (we just had to pin down a date) they both called me after crunching some numbers. It seems like all the resorts I have found pretty much cost the same for all-inclusive stays (5 days is what most people want to stay). When you add in the cost for the resort plus airfare it would cost people about $4000-$5000 to bring a family of 4. The whole point of us doing a destination wedding was to cut down on costs by not having as many people attend but also so that we don't have to pay for a bunch of extras (ceremony location, reception location, decorations, etc). Is anyone having the same problems/concerns? Has anyone found a resort in the Riveria Maya (or Cancun) that might not cost as much for a family of four but with the same great ammenities? Help...I'll be devistated if we can't do our wedding in Mexico (we won't due it if close family can't attend).
  12. Hi...I'm new to the forum. My name is Kelly and we have not set a date yet or a location. I'm BRAND new to this. I've done a lot of research but feel ao overwhelmed!! I'm not sure how to choose the right location at the right price, etc. We are struggling with trying to figure out how many people might be attending and who we can invite. As far as choosing a resort, we are struggling with finding a nice resort with a reception area and wedding area that still has a private feel with great rooms overlooking the ocean. We are mostly thinking the Riveria Maya and we want it to be kid friendly (we have a lot of nieces and nephews) but also want to stay at the same resort for our honeymoon and have the feel that we are secluded like an adults only resort. I guess I want to know what the reception area would look like and the wedding area but still feel confident that the resort is a little more modern and up-to-date and have a room that overlooks the ocean. It's hard to decide which resort is right in regards to pricing, ceremony location, honeymoon attractiveness, etc. I want to feel confident that I get a resort that will really help with the actual wedding and reception plans without a bunch of restrictions (photographer, etc.) We do not plan on flying in a photographer but if I do not like the photographers on a vendor list I would like to use a local photographer instead. I'm panicking about if my hair and make-up will look okay etc. Again, just feeling overwhelmed! Hopefully this site will help me find some answers! -Kelly
