  1. Hello fellow March Brides - I think I'm the first to post pictures! 3-3-09 (National Square Root Day! ) Excellence Playa Mujeres Cancun We had a wonderful experience at Excellence Playa Mujeres in Cancun. Everyone in our party agreed that the resort was amazing and were totally pleased with the trip! I'm so glad that we went for the destination wedding - it is the smartest (and easiest) way to get married! Here are some pics from our wedding!
  2. I wasn't even aware that Fanny was not there anymore - until the day we arrived. Nayeli is now doing her old job and her new job - she was very, very busy when we were there. I know it's hard not to, but I wouldn't worry too much - we made all of our decisions the day we met with her and everything was perfect. You can send a package to the resort before - I had inquired about it, but decided against it so I don't have any of the details on how to send it.
  3. Hey Everyone! We had a wonderful experience at EPM! Everyone in our party agreed that the resort was amazing and were totally pleased with the trip! I'm so glad that we went for the destination wedding - it is the smartest (and easiest) way to get married! I'm pretty laid-back, so take my reviews with that in mind. The entire event was perfect and there weren't any issues -it was a completely stress-free experience. Nayeli was our coordinator for the wedding and she was great to work with and very knowledgeable about the entire wedding process. She was very flexible with any special arrangements/requests and our entire pre-wedding meeting was no more than 1 hour. Sebastian was the photographer and he did amazing work (we wound up with ~200 photos - this is a very small sample). He is also very flexible and willing to create special packages/arrangements outside of the pre-disclosed photo packages (we had to pay his fee in cash - keep that in mind) The staff at the spa was great. My makeup was perfect for the event and she did an amazing job with my hair. I had a general idea of what i wanted prior to going, but I'm sure it would have been helpful to bring along a photo (I'm laid back and didn't think this was important until I was sitting in the chair) We were married in the Gazebo area. I do recommend this due to the winds that were pretty consistent on our trip. Apparently it is typically pretty windy at the resort (this was the case all 8 days we were there). Also, the Gazebo gives you more of an opportunity to 'dress up' the event with chair covers and flowers and provides shade for your guests. During the ceremony, the wedding officiant could not pronounce our names at all. She said Dana at least 3 different ways and could not pronounce my husband’s last name at all. It makes for a funny story. (We did a symbolic wedding since we got married in NC right before we left so we could avoid the legal requirements of a Mexican wedding.) Our cocktail hour was at the X-Lounge. It's a pretty cool spot and is right on the beach. We had 3 waiters and a bartender for our party. Open bar with champagne toast and a bunch of food. Dinner was on the terrace of the Spice restaurant (2nd floor with direct views of the ocean). It was gorgeous, private, with plenty of room! There is only 1 centerpiece included with the package – I didn’t realize that we would have 2 round dinner tables…not a big deal, but someone might find that helpful). I was very wary of the limited food options and having to create a 5 course meal out of them - but the food was great & we picked well. The cake was AWESOME! We also had 3 waiters for dinner – and the service was amazing. Flowers were stunning and exactly what I wanted. My dress was pressed perfectly & my husband's suit was perfect too! They had our room all set up for our wedding night with champagne and rose petals. The photographer didn't stay for the whole time, so I have to get some pictures from our guests for the reception so I can post them. We didn't add music at all. They had the wedding march for me to walk to - and we found that to be enough. If you wanted dancing as part of your reception dinner, you’ll need music. Here are some pictures - let me know if anyone has any questions about the resort, the wedding experience, or if you want to see more pics!
  4. Hi Everyone! We just got back last night from our wedding and honeymoon and it was amazing! I"ll post pictures soon.
  5. Since we have a very small group travelling with us, we plan to send announcements out to everyone who would have been invited to a traditional wedding when we return. Does anyone have any ideas / vendors / wording? Thanks for the help!
  6. Ok- All in all, I am pleased with the quality and look of them for the price. Because it is individualized by favorite color, I actually wound up getting at least one in every color - so you can see what they look like in all of the color options. They are a pretty good size, so we're going to need to stuff them a little to fill them out - but our guests will definitely be able to use these on the trip. I don't know if they do embroidery or not, because I am getting it done by a friend for free. Here are some pix of the bags. Flat: Upright: Inside: Inside Stitching: All Colors: Hope this helps!
  7. I don't have a final headcount yet, but I just over-estimated how many I thought would come and ordered enough bags for all. We only expect 20-25 so it didn't cost that much to have a little extra bag inventory. Not to mention I wanted to cross ordering them off my list. Plus if there are any extra, I figure I can use them as a green alternative when I go grocery shopping
  8. We got them from Hanson Ellis and they did an amazing job. They were really great to work with and made everything so easy. We had almost all the options and had our invites in a little over 3 weeks. After pricing out traditional invitations, I found this to be a surprisingly good deal since we only needed 25 (and unique). They start at $3.69 go up from there depending on what you add to them (engraving, return cards, boxes, message scroll, etc.). Unique Wedding Favors - Bridal Shower Favors - Party Gifts and Favors by HansonEllis We've had great response to them from our guests.
  9. I just got our bags in this week. For the price - they are pretty good. I'll post pictures of them tonight.
  10. We're getting married March 3rd at Excellence Playa Mujeres - we only expect about 20 guests!
  11. We just got these great canvas totes for $4.48 each - 8 different colors to choose from! I asked for everyone's favorite color and we're going to have them embroidered with our guests' initials & filled with goodies. Extremely quick & reasonable shipping! BuywholesaleTshirts.com
  12. I was so excited about our message in a bottle invites that I had to share some pictures! When you're only sending out 25 invites, you have a lot more room to have fun with your invitiations! They are full glass bottles, with real sand, shells & starfish! We also had our names & wedding date etched into the glass! Sorry about the image quality, I used my phone camera In the box: With the reply card: Message Scroll:
