  2. Thanks becks! The pictures of Michele's indoor reception look beautiful.
  3. Hi all! September/October of 09 is the only time frame that works for my fiance and I. Due to the industry I'm in, I cannot take off work between November and March and I really don't want to push my wedding off until spring 2010!!! That being said, I've now learned (from this awesome forum) that Sept/Oct is the rainy season in Cancun/Playa del Carmen so I'm really freaked out. My options are a) change to Cabo/Vegas/somewhere less rainy or Pray it doesn't rain! That being said, I really only want to have my wedding in Playa if I can find a place that has an awesome plan B! Anyone have a wedding in the Riviera Maya when it rained? What did you do? Did you like your plan b? Anyone scout out a venue that has an awesome plan b? Depresses me to get married in some boring conference room/ball room, so if anyone knows of any cool venues with an inside component where the reception could be held that'd be awesome. Thanks !
  4. I love the pictures! I know this has been asked, but I'll throw this in.. I'm dying to hear about the food too.
  5. Thanks for all the kind words! I look forward to looking at everyone's pictures and whatnot as I try to decide. I'll keep you guys posted. Good luck to all the August brides!
  6. My FI and I recently moved to Vegas (2 mos ago) and we love it here. Our family and friends are spread out around the US (Houston, New Orleans, Vermont, New Mexico, etc, etc), so no matter where we have it people will be flying. We always dreamed of having our wedding in mexico (playa or cabo), but we're starting to second guess that lately with the ridiculous airfare prices! A houston-cabo flight is now around $850! I think on average if we went with an AI, our guests would spend $2,000 each coming to our wedding. We want a small wedding (around 50ish), but our extended family might not be too keen on spending that much ! Also, friends might not enjoy spending that much on coming to a wedding.. arg Vegas isn't free, but flights are much cheaper, and there are so many more hotel options to fit into any budget. Targeting a wedding next fall (Sept or Oct), so hopefully we decide the place soon!
