  1. You may want to consider getting married at Club 96, which is a private beach club adjacent to the One & Only and then having your group stay somewhere more affordable. The One & Only would have been my first choice hands down. However, it was minimum $650/nt. For us, that was too much to ask our guests to pay considering they had already paid for the expense of just getting to Cabo. We were able to rent out the whole venue so we had it all to ourselves. It has the same feel as the hotel but with complete privacy. It is gorgeous and very exclusive feeling. It was much more afforadable then the One & Only too. I have lot of pics of it if you'd like to see it. A lot of our pics on the beach have the One & Only in the background. While we were there we also found out that Club 96 is open to the public for dinner so we are planning on going back to Cabo for our anniversary, staying at the One & Only and then having dinner at Club 96, where we got married! Just PM me your email address and I'll send you the pics if you'd like. It took my breath away and exceeded all of my expectations. =) Kristen
  2. I have a pic of it from the beach looking towards it. Just PM me your email address is you want to see it. In my opinion, the Palapa Bar is nicer! =) Kristen
  3. I'm really surprised and sorry that your future father in-law gave you a negative review of the Sheraton. I have to disagree with him. I was just married on 12/12 and while we got married off-site our group of 30 did all stay at the Sheraton. I thought it was amazing and everyone of our guests thought so as well. I am very particular and choosing our hotel was really hard for me. After a month of researching I had narrowed it down to the Sheraton, Dreams, Casa del Mar and Marquis. After being there and seeing these other resorts I am SOOO glad we decided on the Sheraton. It was my absolutely my favorite of these! The hotel and grounds are just beautiful, the food was incredible and the service is top notch. What I loved about it that is very different from the other resorts is that it's set way back off of the main road. Most of the other hotels are right on this. It's in the Casa del Mar master planned community so there are million dollar homes around it, 2 golf courses, cobblestone streets and the entrance is very exclusive feeling. It feels like it's own little city. There are a few vendors on the beach during the day. They are very polite and do wear white, so it does look like they have a uniform on. I agree that they add to the charm of it all and they are gone by 5:00pm or so. There are 4 vendor carts on the lower terrace on the way towards the Palapa Bar. They close up around 5:00pm as well. I have a pic of that area with them closed up if you'd like to see it - just PM me your email address. I promise you that you won't be disappointed with the Sheraton at all. I have pics of it that I can show you too. =) Kristen
  4. We had our welcome dinner there on 12-11-08. It was amazing! We got so many compliments on the event. We had a cocktail hour on the beach with open bar and then moved up to the terrace for dinner. The beach is set-up with lounge furniture that is really cool - white couchs, back-lit black and white tables, rugs, etc. The ambiance is really great and the food was so good. I would totally recommend this restuarant. We payed $28/person for 2 hours of open bar ($16/person for 2 hours of non-alcoholic open bar) and $30/person for the chicken fajitas with salad, rice, veggies, beans, chips & salsa and dessert. =) Kristen
  5. I used DJ Ricardo for our wedding on 12-12-08 at Club 96 in Palmilla. I can not say enough wonderful things about him. He is just great We had so many compliments on him, the music and how well it flowed. He doesn't charge for set-up or take-down time either. He is very friendly and speaks good English. He is great to work with and really cares about making everything just the way you want it. He worked with me a lot on our play list and he also did our ceremony music. He is very fast at returning emails as well. He is completely worth his hourly rate. If you have any questions about him I would be happy to answer them. =) Kristen
  6. When I went for my hair trial 2 days before our wedding, Suzanne was really pushing me to have my make-up done as well. I was only planning on having them do my hair. On a side note, I actually took in a pic of Kaylee's wedding day hair style and wanted something similar. It didn't turn out so well on me though! What they did looked nothing like hers (I had a different stylist). My trial lasted 4 hours because they just kept trying different styles. Suzanne was nice but she was getting very frustrated with me. We ended up just going with my hair down and curled (after all that!). I really could have done this myself but after all that time I felt bad. I did end up doing a make-up trial that day as well (after much persistence from Suzanne). She kept saying that everyday make-up was very different from wedding day make-up. The trial did end up looking good so I agreed to wedding day make-up as well. This ended up turning out a lot heavier then the trial. In the pics it looks good but in person I felt very made-up. =) Kristen
  7. I used them for transportation to our welcome dinner on 12/11/08. They were great and I would totally recommend them. I had no problems at all seeting this up ahead of time with Monica via email. She didn't require payment in advance either. We had 3 vans at $13/person including tax and gratuity. The vans came early and the drivers were very professional and friendly. We actually ended up tipping them a little extra because they were so great. =) Kristen
  8. We had DJ Ricardo at our wedding on 12-12-08 at Club 96 in Palmilla. You absolutely will not be disappointed with him. I can not recommend him enough. He was wonderful! We had so many compliments on the music and how well it flowed. He speaks great English and is very personable. All of our guests loved him too. He did our ceremony music as well and it was perfect. He is so easy to work with and gets back to you right away. He even took pics of the night and emailed them to us after we got back. Let me know if you have any questions about him at all and I'd be happy to answer them. =) Kristen
  9. I booked him for 6 hours but I used him for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and then 3 hours for dancing. We only had 30 people so that amount of time was perfect although it does go by so fast! If you have any other questions regarding Ricardo just let me know. I had a great expereience with him and would totally recommend him! =) Kristen
  10. We were married on 12/12/08 and used DJ Ricardo. He was fabulous! I can't say enough wonderful things about him. He was so professional and really cared that everything was prefect for us. All of our guests commented on how great the music was and how well it all flowed. He did my ceremony music too! He and his wife even took pics of the evening and emailed them to me. They turned out great, some even better then our professional pics! I corresponded a lot with him by email before our wedding and he always got right back to me and was so helpful. He is worth $230/hour as I really feel the music sets the tone of your wedding/reception. I would recommend him in a heartbeat! =) Kristen
  11. Congratulations! We're neighbors...I live in Lincoln, CA. Anyway, I just got married on 12/12/08 and I worked with Rachel Hansen from Weddings in Paradise. I had a great experience and would recommend their company in a heartbeat. I believe Tammy is one of their most requested coordinators. Have you decided your venue or hotel yet? Feel free to email if you have any questions, want to see pics, etc - ksandahl@yahoo.com. Have a great time in Cabo - you'll love it! =) Kristen
  12. I'll email you some pics as soon as I get them. I'm waiting to hear back from our wedding coordinator as to when we'll get them. We got married at a private club in the Palmilla community called Club 96. It is adjacent to the One & Only hotel. It was breathtaking and totally exceeded all of my expectations. I'll email you some pics. We stayed at the Sheraton (about 30 of us total). The Sheraton was fantastic but we wanted something more private and intimate for our wedding. Have you decided on a hotel yet? This was really hard for me to do sight unseen. I narrowed down to the Sheraton, Marquis, Dreams and Casa Del Mar and had the toughest time picking one. After being there I'm so glad we chose the Sheraton. It is so beautiful and set back from the main road and feels like it's own little village. I also considered Bradley but ended up going with Daniel primarily because his style was so similiar to Manuel's.
  13. Oh, I forgot...he was actually $600/hour. That price could have been inflated by our wedding coordinator though. In hindsight, I think she did that on a lot of the prices. I think she or her company made the difference =((
  14. I'm not sure but hopefully we'll them soon. They're being mailed by our wedding coordiator so I'll email her for an ETA. I'd be happy to send you some pics. Just send me your email address. Kristen
  15. I believe that info on Manual's website is outdated. I had asked our wedding coordinator about that and she said that Daniel used to be a Jr. Photographer under Manuel but he was now on his own. I used him for our 12/12/08 wedding and absolutely loved him! He was fun to work with and very friendly. I wish we would have had more time with him. We haven't received our pics yet but I've seen a few samples and they look great. I would recommend him without any hesitation. He came very highly recommended from our wedding coordinator. She said because he learned from Manuel that their photo styles are very similar. =) Kristen
