  1. There is another problem with a 5pm ceremony aside from the lack of time for pictures, you will have a huge issue with the changing light. Around that time the light in Mexico changes quickly, and the photos will be inconsistent if you are doing some group shots. It slows down the process since the photog has to always compensate every 10 shots. Best time for the ceremony would be along the lines as edssbride09 mentioned. If you are OK with seeing eachother before the ceremony you can get all your pictures with the two of you and bridal party out of the way first and I promise you won't regret it.
  2. I posted a couple more photos on my blog if anyone was interested. If you want to check them out go here. For those who may want to know how the peer looks at sunrise:
  3. Hey Girls, I just got back from Mexico late last night from Jen's wedding on Thursday. I thought I would share a few photos we took while we were down there. We did a TTD the day before (wed) so I only have some of those posted so far. I will have some ceremony and other resort photos posted soon but thought I would share what I have posted so far. If you have any questions I may be able to answer about the resort feel free to pass them my way. Here are a couple from both cenote (gran cenote) and around the resort on the same day. 8. I am pretty shocked how the photographer has reacted to this. The photographer has actually made it worse in her responses by adding more fuel to the fire after the fact. I would also encourage any bride that had an issue with a photographer (or any vendor) to speak up and let all the other brides know to save them the headache and also (hopefully) let the vendor grow from it. I know if I had made a B&G unhappy for whatever reason I would want to be the first to know and try to correct it. We hold so much in our hands that influence your day, which is after all supposed to be one of the happiest, most fun, and memorable days of your life. It would be a shame if you couldn't openly discuss your personal experience (positive and negative) to help future brides.
  9. I have seen a similar occurrence in Cuba. The thing that stood out was the two of them wore these bright red/white striped shirts. They even got themselves in each others shots sometimes (saw the pics after). This isn't to say each and every resort has the same quality of photographer, and it will very greatly from resort to resort. It's always a gamble going with the in house photographers, sometimes it will be well worth it, other times it wont. Sometimes if you are getting married in the offseason (like november) you can get pretty good deals with local vendors to bring with you. Just something you have to weigh the pros and cons for.
  10. Hey Tracy I thought I would chime in because I just finished scheduling with Jen for her big day and have been peering into this thread from time to time. 5 hours seems ok if you want coverage up to the reception but you may not be able to fit in your first dance and cake cutting into it as well. To get one photographer to cover both yourself and the groom getting ready there are normally two options: 1) groom gets ready first, or 2) There is enough down time in between hair/makeup/dressing of the bride for the photographer to quickly head over to the grooms place to get pictures. Grooms pictures of getting ready can take as little as 10-15min. We guys get ready quickly. Make sure the package says you get a CD of all your images. This way you may be able to get someone you know to touch up a few of them for you as I know most resort photographers don't do too much of that. Hope that helps
