Has anyone found any good group deals for nice hotels for that budget Would anyone recommend a travel agent that they are using that is giving them better deals My wedding is in February and my guests are freaking out at the prices down there. I guess February is high seaon. I am getting married at the Mayan...I might stay at the Marriott if I can find some deals too. I hope someone can help. Thanks, Amy R. I found this site on another thread and it has been such a big help in my planning. Cheap Flights, Airline Tickets, Cheap Airfare & Discount Travel Deals - Kayak.com will provide prices for hotel and flight. Also, Puerto Vallarta: Hotels, Golf and Tour Reservations, Condo Rentals, Real Estate, Events, Weather, and Maps by VallartaOnline.com is great for sorting out hotels by area and amenities for older travelers, solo guests and couples. I have found the following from searching the thread and online, I am not sure about the rating for them. Melia (AI) - this is in the Marina, be aware that this is VERY family friendly Hola Puerto Vallarta Club and Spa (AI) Plaza Pelicanos If you are ineterested in reviews and ratings for these resorts I would try tripadvisor. (Reviews of vacations, hotels, resorts, vacation and travel packages - TripAdvisor)

It also depends on how many people you are having. the timeshare hotels offer beautiful packages, and a lot of it depends on your budget and how many guests you will have. Thank you for your insight. I absolutly want to do what is cheapest. I am thinking about sticking with the Marina and North Hotel Zone because we have many guests with children, so having the event be cost effective for our guests is very important.

So far, we have 22 rooms booked, and our guests keep commenting on the great rate! I am happy to answer any questions you may have! Ask away! So the flight was not included in this price (1660.23)? So, the 450.00 for the flight is in addition to the 1660.23 for lodging?
  5. Hello all, I am struggling with the location selection. My FI's family owns a time-share and there are very beautiful locations available. Is anyone familiar with additional discounts given or the benefits of using the time-share for a wedding?
  6. Yeah 5 nights may be a bit much for my family too, I love this location.
  7. This was such a helpful thread, I think I have found my location!
  8. I was interested in this location is it expensive? If you have guests who stay in the hotel, is it less expensive for the event? I should e-mail them huh:)
  9. I think # 1 is the most flattering and it is absolutly beautiful!

They still have to find their own way there! It is up to your guests, especially with a year+ notice to save up and decide to go. We looked at everything on a case by case basis. For example, a GM is a mortgage broker so has been a little slow. He didn't have the money to pay for the trip by the commitment date so we lent him the money. We did offer each bridal party member a "credit" to help defray the cost of the trip and bought the girl's dresses. I would say do NOT offer to pay for anyone. Later, if you have the ability and decide together to help out a particular family member who otherwise could not afford to come, then so be it. It's not fair to pay for one side and not another. You need to use the money you saved to put towards your life together--buy a house, car, re-decorate, invest, etc. So in considering paying for BM and GM accommodations should we accommodate their guests (children, husband, wife, date, etc.) or are we providing a room for them to stay together. I have a lot of BM. I am still in school and the wedding is in October of 2009. I sent invitations to everyone in the bridal party and the last couple of line said, "if you can't commit I understand" and I also explained that I realized the cost would be great. Nevertheless my future MOL has been talking to the BM (fi brother) and she asked me if I realized the cost I was imposing and all of the people I was potentially excluding.
  14. Do we pay the travel agent or do they collect some sort of a commission from the resort?
  15. Can anyone who has stayed here give me an idea of the beds, I know it may sound silly but bedding is so important (mattress, pillows, down bedding?)
