Hey! My FI and I are arriving on the Wednesday before the wedding and assembling our bags ourselves. (We are shipping our stuff down a month earlier than the wedding). We are having a Meet and Greet at the Rum Bar at the Resort for a Happy Hour on Thursday (the day when most people will arrive), so everyone can meet and see who all is there. There, we will be giving out the bags ourselves to make it a little more personal. (and save about $3 per bag for the resort to deliver them) Most resorts will be able to give you a list of your guests and room numbers once you get doen there if you wanted to go door to door yourself. I've heard of people handing them out prior to even going to their destination. Good Luck!
  2. Sunset- Don't forget to look under the "Sale" section from JCrew. I forgot too and kept wondering where people were finding these great dresses for less than 150. The Lindsay dresses are really cute. (I think around $100) We wore that style in my sister's wedding last year. The dresses I bought for my sisters for my wedding were originally $300, but we paid $69... they have about 80-100 dresses in the sale section. Did you try department stores? Nordstrom had a lot, and a variety of prices too. Good Luck!
  3. Definately try J Crew! We bought ours there and they are beautiful. Definately something they can wear again since they don't look like typical "bridesmaid dresses". which is what I wanted to avoid. We ordered them in navy: Women solids & textures Silk tricotine Jenelle short dress And even though they say "Final sale" just call them. I ordered them for my 2 sisters and I ordered the same dress in ivory and long for my reception dress and was scared to order them if we hated them or if they didn't fit, and the woman on the phone told me if we wanted to return them to just take them back to the store and tell them that I spoke with someone from customer service. Also, search online for free shipping codes to save around $20-30. Good Luck!
  4. So my Fi found these linen pants yesterday and they look great on him. (He's 6'5", so finding clothes that fit is difficult). I was wondering how they would look for pictures and during the ceremony and reception since I've heard that linen wrinkles easily. Anyone have pics from a wedding? Is this something not to worry about since it's a destination wedding and people will expect it to be a bit more casual? I was just worried about pictures. Any suggestions/opinions?

This isn't something you should get upset about. Hope you can relax about it. There'll be plenty more issues to stress about before the big day, I promise! Is this response supposed to be in another section? Didn't quite make sense.
  6. Our resort charges $500 to have any audio/visual equipment, so we're skipping a slideshow. We may just do some pictures instead. And if/when we have a party when we return, we would do one then.
  7. We pretty much know who is coming by looking at who has booked. I have a handful of "maybes" as well. Are you all sending invites to people you know aren't coming as well? I know there's some people who want one even though they're not coming. Is it tacky to send them to them?
  8. SO, I haven't ordered my invites yet, mainly because I didn't know what information I needed to include because I haven't heard back from my WC until yesterday. Anyway, my wedding is Dec 13th, and the WC recommended that the RSVP date be Oct 1st. However, my invites may take between 1-3 weeks to print and deliver! SO that puts me at mailing them out the 3rd week in September. (assuming 3 weeks to print them) Let's cut to the chase- how short is too short of time to have your guests RSVP? Or should I just push back the RSVP date to October 7th or 15th?
  9. My Bridesmaid dresses from J Crew in navy. They were $99 when I ordered them last week...this week they are $79. My reception gown is the same dress but long and in ivory
  10. I think we all have this kind of problem... A few people brought up a good point about getting some things now if there's an awesome deal, since you could always buy something similar later if you need more AND not every bag needs to have the same items. I'm pretty sure the travel sections at Target keep the same kinds of this year round, (1 oz sunblock, shout wipes, hand sanitizer, first aid kits, tissues, pain meds, etc) so those kinds of things shouldn't be a problem... AND they're all around $1. In our OOT bags, the only thing we spent more than $3 on were the beach towels, since we wanted to get the embroidered ($5.50 for the towel and between $2-3 for the embroidered= $ We're doing one towel per guest, but they will double as their wedding favor as well. We justify spending a little more since our guests are traveling a long way and we want them to feel special and to thank them for coming. Good Luck!
  11. Hello! I saw a website on here for cheap straw bags that come in various sizes for around $5 or less. I've searched and searched and cannot find the thread. Does anyone know the site? It was kind of a Hawaiian-looking site. Thanks!
  12. Where can I find bulk individual packets of Advil and Immodium?
